COVID COULD BRING SOME MIRACULOUS POSITIVE CHANGES IN THE WORLD
Covid 19 related lockdown measures have brought several changes and healing touches all over the world. While the invisible coronavirus could shatter the economy of many countries it could shake the well established governments in some other. The tiny virus has shown uniformity and equality in picking the victims. No parity of wealth, age, sex, religion, strength, knowledge or anything went to its consideration. We may look at some good things happened around.
It is a priceless thing for every Indian that the quality of the Ganga water is improved. It is now fit to drink. Good amount of money had been spent from time to clean the Ganga but no any result worth to mention until the entry of Covid 19. Consequent upon the dropping of air pollution level, the people of Delhi can see the blue sky in day time and countless number of stars in the night time which was unimaginable till few months back. Post lockdown, not only has Delhi's air quality improved considerably, but with industries shutting down, Yamuna too appears cleaner in Delhi.
The rare South Asian River Dolphin, also known as the Ganges Dolphin, was spotted near ghats in Kolkata. It is apparently only the fresh water dolphin categorised as critically endangered, it's appearance came as a pleasant surprise to environmentalists. Aerosol levels in North India has decreased to a 20 year low, after the lockdown reduced human made emission sources in urban and rural India.
Leather back sea turtle nests found in Thailand after two decades on its now-empty beaches. Earth's crust is shaking less as human activity around the world has come to a halt, due to the lockdown. Dhauladhar range, which is part of Himalayan chain of mountains in Himachal Pradesh has become visible for the people of Jalandhar, Punjab. Animals around the world have come to man's place as human stay under lockdown. Canals of Venice have become cleaner and clearer.
Satellite maps produced using data from Copernicus Sentinel - 5P satelite reveals a considerable drop in average nitrogen dioxide concentrations over India. Scientists believe coronavirus lockdown might lead to biggest fall in CO2 emissions since Word War II. Environmentalists all over alongwith a few countries were pointing out at the dangerous destruction of ozone layer. All said and done no one could do anything in this direction. However the Covid related lockdown and other actions could repair by the nature itself about 20 million sq km area of ozone layer which is equivalent to 10 times the area of Greenland.
