POLICE OFFICERS INVOLVED IN CRIMINAL CASES


'Fence itself eating the crops'. It is a very dangerous situation. People are picked, trained, taught and deployed at different levels to maintain the law and order. Some of those, instead of protecting the people, committing crimes against them by associating with criminals. It is not one or two but 744 police officers in the state have been involved in criminal cases. Cases have been registered against all of them under relevant sections of IPC. 18 of them have been removed from service so far and 691 are facing departmental actions.

It is suggested that the  government may take up the matter seriously and formulate more stringent law to remove such officials immediately from service. Under no circumstances the government should ask the people to bear the cost and act of the criminals.
