As per the available report of 2019 the highest rice producing countries in the world are in Asia. They are: 1. China 211 Million Tonnes 2. India 178 MT 3. Indonesia and Bengladesh 55 MT each. Rice yield generally varies from country to country. As  per the state police records, crime against women is on the rise in Kerala. 16,199 crimes against women were reported in the state in 2021.  This rose to 18,943 in 2022. Sexual assault cases also rose from 4,059 to 5,354. Eight dowry deaths were also reported in the last year. According to a report by the Mathrubhumi there were 1784 cases of sexual assault in January 2023 alone. Out of these 223 were sexual assault cases, 629 were insulting the modesty of women and 409 were sexual assault by family members. What a pathetic condition of women in the highly literate state! Dowry related disturbance and cruelty is a usual thing in many houses in Kerala. A lease indenture signed between the Maharaja of Travencore and the secretary of state for India in 1886 with a validity for 999 years, is what caused the  current tussle between Kerala and Tamil Nadu for irrigation  water from Mullaperiyar dam. 999 years is something over 30 human generations. A Chinese Power House using combustible waste. With  66.1% recycling, Germany is the best recycling country in the world. Austria is close by with Germany in waste management. These two countries are followed by Taiwan, Sweden and South Korea in the list of best waste managers in the world. In 2003 Kamikatsu municipality of Japan made history by producing zero waste. Despite all these, may be due to miscalculations by successive governments, all that we made for the country could not be equally distributed among the people. While comparing with many countries in the world, per capita Income of our people are much low. There is no meaning for finding reasons for this. We have to plug the holes immediately. The  above report by a leading Malayalam daily narrate the story of corruption in detail. Opportunity for corruption is created. The vigilance department might have submitted the report to the concerned. No action by the authorities concerned. Corruption is allowed to grow. A petty fee made applicable for transporting tody from one district to another district of Kerala, after  a permit is made compulsory. The fee for the permit is Rs 2/- and the corruption for the transfer is Rs 60/-. If the government abandon this unwanted law the corruption will end there. If the government continue with it can be presumed naturally that the corruption is carried with the knowledge of the concerned authorities.
