WHAT IS THE REAL CAUSE BEHIND THE US - IRAN DISPUTE?

If we try to find a single reason for the dispute, it can be straight away said that the Nuclear capabilities of Iran is the one that irritated US so much. At present Iran is not believed to have possessing any nuclear weapon. Since early 2000 Iran's Uranium enrichment capabilities have raised concern over many countries including US. According to the past intelligence assessment, Tehran has the potential capabilities to produce nuclear weapons about a dozen in numbers.soon, but they have withdrawn from the efforts. However the US and some other countries believe that they can make the nuclear weapons in a short span of time. Iran's ballistic missiles and delivery capabilities also irritate many.

The conflict between the two countries is a combination of longstanding historical grievances, regional ambitions and dispute over military strategy. The US also aimed at Iran's proxy militants like Hezbollah and Hamas. Further to these tension raised many times at the Strait of Hormuz which is an international passage especially for oil movement. There were, as reported by the media, however, allegations about private interest too, in certain unexplained aspects too.

While Russia and China have already extended diplomatic support to Iran, there is no any indication  of strong support with weapons. Though they are not likely to interfere directly, in the case the present dispute develop, both of them may extend intelligence and logistical support. 

As per the available findings about 7,300 people are killed in the Gulf region so far after the outbreak of the war. Tens of thousands are injured under various densities. The casualties can be bifurcated as below. The highest toll is in Lebanon with 3,593 deaths followed by 3,468 in Iran. Around 30 people are killed in other Gulf countries and 39 people died in Israel. 14 persons belonging to the US military are killed and about 400 service personnel are injured. 3 Indians have died in commercial shipping incidents.

If we look at the outcome of the war so far, we can find that US and Israel have gained military dominance. They have considerably obliterated Iran's naval strength. The war has crippled Iran's oil exports infrastructure and severely  damaged the nuclear development programme. Over and above the damages of the war participants, the war has caused severe impact on the world energy supplies and that will directly hit the economic balance of many countries. Further to these if the war extends beyond an affordable period. If the war continues for long it may trigger serious changes in world alignment blocks. If it continues further, there may be attempts to persuade countries like India for active participation.

Further to other things, the world countries should unitedly come forward to call for an emergency meeting of the UNGA (UN General Assembly) to discuss the matter in detail and ask the war participants to put down the weapons and come around the table. This meeting should offer a practical solution to end the dispute and reinstate peace. The delay in this may cause severe impact on the economic balance of many countries.
