WHAT IS THE WORTH OF PRAYING FOR THE DEPARTED ONES

Irrespective of our religious faith we all pray for our departed ones. As an expression of love and regards it will certainly satisfy us. However as per the teachings of the Holy Books these prayers cannot make any impact on those souls. According to the Hindu faith every soul will finally have confluence with the the Supreme One. Since God is in the state of absolute purity, anyone get to be blended with Him sholud also become pure. What make us impure is the negative energy or the impact of sins committed by us. So long as these energy remain with us we cannot be with God. In order to get rid off, we should have to suffer. Hinduism suggests, therefore,  one has to take continuous rebirth untill gets fully cleaned.

Christianity also say the same thing, but those who recognise the sacrifice of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of their sins shall be got cleaned with His blood. Such one need not undergo punishment on his own life. " ... you shall not go out from there, until you have paid the last penny." (Mathew 5:26). This can be said in other words; until you get fully cleaned you cannot get into the kingdom of God. In the Old Testament, Exodus 34:7 also says similar to this. If one die with his sins, his subsequent generations have to under go the punishment. If son has to suffer for the father's sin, the father and the son are same or it is the rebirth.

All these clearly say that punishment for sin can be made only when the sinner has physical body. Punishments are in the forms of disease, pain, poverty, failure and such negative things in life. Even for the Almighty God, to forgive sins of humanity, had to take a human body, to feel the pain, get despised and finally to have the death.

And now, when soul departs with sin, no prayer can relieve him from the impact of sins until he himself undergo due punishment. However since such departed souls are likely to be among us we may wish good for them and thereby do good for all around us.
