DO WE HAVE RESPONSIBILITIES FOR THE COMING GENERATION?

Undoubtedly we have responsibilities for the coming generation. We hold these  responsibilities under different perspectives. As parents we have large responsibility for them. Similarly, as teachers, as social workers, politicians, judicial members, law and order governors, religious leaders etc we have unfathomable responsibilities towards the coming generations. It is we who are bound to mould them. The prime tool to mould them is education. Unfortunately, from day one, our country is least bothered about imparting proper education to 100% of the coming generation.

We may ask the following questions to our children between class 4 and class 12, in various densities. Can India become one of the top rich countries in the world? Can we make Indian unemployment rates to zero? Can we make our literacy level (basic education level) to graduation/bachelor degree? Can all Indians have own houses in a given period of time? Can India become a crime free one? Can women move in our country safely? Can we eradicate begging in our country and rehabilitate existing beggars? Can we make India a zero corruption country? If the answer is positive, ask them further how it can be attained. The latter answer will indicate the existing standard of their education.

Lack of education is the foremost reason for widespread corruption in our country. It has reached such a state that anyone can take away the public money at will. Huge amount of money has been pumped out of our country through corrupt means. Though we all know about it we are least bothered about it. The chief element behind this is the large illiteracy in our country. We may look at our neighbour country China. The population there is very near to ours. Though it is a dictatorial government ruling that country and no democracy is existing there, they have higher GDP and per capita income. The crime rate is much lower. Human killing is also much less. According to the Women, Peace and Safety Index of 2023, Denmark rank No. 1 (The safest country for women in the world) China ranks 82 and India 128. Even though about half of our population consists of women they have surrendered their safety and security to the criminals. This is because they do not know how to bargain for their safety and secure it.

We all must therefore, unite to enhance the standard of education of our country to the top level of the world and to make India a cent per cent literate country bringing up our literacy level to graduation, bachelor degree.
