CONFESSION IN CHRISTIANITY

"Then God, seeing that the wickedness of men was great upon earth and every thought of their heart was intent upon evil at all times, repented that he had made man on the earth." (Genesis 6:5-6) We find here that God repented for creating men on earth. God repented for the wickedness of men because these men are His creation, and therefore, He Himself being the Supreme Judge, is responsible for their inequities. God, filled with the whole justice of the universe, therefore, repented. And at the end of the repentance we see the Almighty One on the cross at Golgotha.

"Christ died for our sins." (1Cor 15:3)

"For God made him who did not know sin to be sin for us, so that we might become the justice of God in him " (2Cor 5:21)

Christ 's death on the cross fully paid the penalty for our sin, is our firm belief. Here comes the baffling act
of confession in Christianity.
This may create confusion at least among some believers. Can a priest forgive the sins of man? There are two aspects to be considered here. One, can a priest after absorbing the negative energy of a good number of people, remain healthy? A sick person after his confession get relieved from his sickness? These two are significant questions in confession we do today.

Any human, whether the disciple of Christ or the priest of today can absorb the negative forces on their bodies and depending upon  their faith in Jesus Christ can pass on to the Lord. This must be the simple theory of forgiveness of sin by a human. However, surprisingly none of the disciples who had forgiven sins of human, after return of the Lord from this world, could not pass these negatives to the Son of God. They were to carry these forces on their own bodies and were to undergo  painful death like that of the Lord. The one who escaped similar death was only the disciple who was plunged into boiling oil, Apostle John.

If we try to ratify the confession and the forgiveness thereby, it is an open expression of unbelief to the Supreme Sacrifice of Jesus Christ for the entire humanity.
