THERE IS A COUNTRY WITH NO MOSQUITOES

Mosquitoes
can breed in wide variety of environments including in the extreme cold climates like Antarctic region. But mosquitoes cannot definitely not breed in Iceland. There are about 2500 species of mosquitoes in the world. Wet and humid environment suit them the best. Hence they are found less and less in arctic and antartic regions.

Scientists studied the matter quite well and their findings are interesting. They say that these insects can survive climate that is hotter or colder than Iceland but not the one that is in this country. Another reason they find is that some particular chemical is contained in the soil and water of Iceland. However consequent upon the global warming by the melting of glaciers the ecology and climate of that region too may change. If that is so mosquitoes are on their way to Iceland.

We may have envy on the fortune of Iceland when we know that about 8,30,000 people are killed by by this deadly insects every year in South Africa, Central Africa, South America, Central America, Mexico and almost entire Asia. Last year's outbreak of Zika virus have brought terror in advanced countries too as this virus can be spread by some species of mosquitoes.
