Madhya Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh, West Bengal, Maharashtra, Rajasthan, Haryana, Delhi etc are also doing significant performance in floriculture in India. Altogether about 65,000 hectares of land is being used for flower cultivation. Prime cultivation is scented rose. Marigold, Jasmine, Crossabdra, Chrysanthemum, Tube rose, Gladiolus, Orchids, Liliums, Anthuriums etc are the prime cultivation in India.

India has long tradition of floriculture ranging over 5000 years. At present as per the web report of India Today, India's flower power continues to bloom with the country emerging as the second largest grower of flowers around the world, surpassed only by China. But we are far behind in trading of flower and allied products in the world.

Indian flower market is not a well  organised one. There seem to be enough scope for new entrants. Our youth can think about this new arena. Try to acquire basic knowledge about floriculture.  Then, those who can put enough efforts and spend maximum time in floriculture can enter into this new area. Those who have good organisational skill can straight away look for suitable land. There will be many people to offer enough land for flower cultivation and also there will be many people to invest enough money for this venture.

Best wishes for new floriculture aspirants!
