QUOTATION KILLINGS

When anyone has enmity with another one, fix up a quotation team, pay money and eliminate the concerned one from this world. Murder this way is called quotation killing. Whether it is a man or woman, old or young, boy or girl the team is ready to kill. Depending upon the status of the victim the quotation amount varies. Many people are killed every year in our state under this system. It is not known whether NCRB keeps a seperate account of quotation killings. 292, 323 and 306 people were murdered in Kerala in 2018, 2019 and 2020 respectively according to NCRB. Howmany quotation teams were involved in these killings are not known. From the available information it can be safely concluded that every police station has the required resources to ascertain the number of quotation criminals  in their purview.

For reasons best known to them, neither the police nor the government seriously taking any action to eliminate this destructive trend from our society. It may be a fact that political parties of our state are using them to eradicate their enemies. Hence people are constrained to believe that some of these criminal gangs are preserved and protected by political parties.

Under this circumstances, it is requested to the leaders of all religions to come forward to identify these criminals and try to reform them to become part of the common folk. It will be a religious service to the society as almost all these criminals are haunted by narcotics.
