POLITICS IN POLICE' FORCE

One of the most dangerous symptoms in democracy is the actions of the forces are determined by their political affiliations. It can be safely assumed that in the state of Kerala almost all individuals in the police force, may be except a very few, are aligned to one political party or the other. Election results of their association when report, our media even go to the extent of saying that 'so and so party' took the lead. Really it is an extremely dangerous situation. One may even like to ask the need of an association and an election in the force. Since every government is politically manoeuvred one cannot expect any positive interference by them in this matter, it would be brought to the consideration of the judiciary.

One cannot even imagine the state of affairs when crime and criminals are bifurcated by political ideology. The people, especially youth, must come forward to revive the police force so that they would always remain a protective force for the law abiding citizens and the impartial and honest individuals within the force.
