STUDY IN USA (Part I)

America is one of the best destination in the world for higher studies. There are many globally competitive universities in USA. It is, however, not easy to get admission in American universities. The most important is that the one seeking admission there should have an impressive academic profile. Another important aspect is proficiency in English language. Having these two will widen the option of the prospective candidate. As the options are wide one can choose a university with affordable tution cost. Since there are scholarships available one can also study free. It should also be kept in mind that ather than expenses for education, one should be prepared for living expenses health care etc.

Free Universities in America:
University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign
Founded in 1867, study under this University is cheap and for some courses free. This university offers 150 under graduate and 100 graduate programs through its 15 academic departments. These include Agriculture, Fine and Applied Arts, Engineering, Medicine, Information Science, Law, Veterinary Medicine etc. Through the Illinois commitment, the university offers free tution for 4 years for in-state students and enrollees from families with an income of $67,100 and below. These will be governed by strict admission process as laid down.

University of Houston
The University of Houston is a public research institution that serves as the flagship campus of the UH system. Founded in 1927, it is the third largest school in the state of Texas. UH's academic programs offered are through the Colleges Architecture, Arts, Business, Education, Engineering, Hotel and Restaurant Management, Law, Nursing, Pharmacy, Medicine etc. UH offers free tution to select students through Cougar Promise. Those eligible are Texas residents who are first time, full time students of the university. Financial assistance are provided depending upon the income family as prescribed.

Virginia State University
 VSU is situated in Ettrick, Virginia and opened in the year 1882. Courses offered are Agriculture, Business, Engineering and Technology, Natural Science, Humanities etc. Recently VSU launched free tution programme subject to restrictions and conditions.

Washington State University
WSU established in 1890 is situated in Pullman, Washington. Courses offered are Agriculture and Natural Resources, Arts and Science, Business, Communication, Engineering, Medicine, Nursing, Pharmacy etc. WSU is internationally renowned for its Engineering and Veterinary Medicine programs. WSU offers free tution subject to conditions.

University of Nebraska System
UNS was started in 1869. Having its lone campus in Lincoln, the system now has 3 universities (Lincoln, Omaha and Kearney) Applicants at the 3 campuses are eligible for free tution under the Nebraska promise.

East Tennessee State University
