OLD AGE PENSION

India rank 41 out of 44 countries in old age pension. There are 14.9 cr people in India aged 60 and above as on 2022. This is 10.5 % of the total population.

We may find here the old age pension prevailing in some selected countries in the world.

UK £12,792 p.a. (Rs 13,35,485)

or Rs1,11,290 per month.

France $1,327 p.m. (Rs1,10,592)

Netherlands EUR 1230.24 + holiday allowance 72.04 =EUR 1302.28 (Rs1,18,911.p.m)

Many countries in the world are paying old age pension more or less in the same level as shown above. But unfortunately we old age people are considered scrap by our great country. According to National Policy on Sr Citizens 2011 the estimated population of Sr Citizens would be as below (in millions)

The earlier governments were giving some travel concession in Indian Railways for Sr Citizens. This has been withdrawn by this government.

Our political stalwarts repeatedly tells about the great achievements of our nation. We have reached the top layer GDP in the world. We may be called a rich country soon. But unfortunately we have no money to pay old age pension and other benifits to our Sr Citizens who have put their best efforts for the development of this country. Now when they have become tired and cannot walk alone our country says no to take care of them. They have been declared as waste and off cuts. But the government have no restriction to give lavishly to our legislative members of the states and parliamentarians. If those concerned may look at the wasteful expenditures of different states, there cannot be any justification in negating the paltry sum to old ones. If their tears are allowed to fall on this holy land every Indian on the driving seat of this nation will.be made to answer by the Supreme One!
