SRI LANKA - A WARNING FOR KERALA
What is being happened in Sri Lanka should be an eye opener for the people of Kerala. As did the Lankans the successive governments in Kerala are accumulating unbearable debt over the people. Every government is taking loans from all available sources without making any effort for repayment of atleast their share of the debt. The state of Kerala is infact surviving by the money sent by the Keralites working abroad. The prime revenue of the state other than taxes and duties are from liquor and lottery. Despite blessed with a God's Own Land we could not draw tourists from abroad to our normal potential. Despite having one of the finest infrastructure of our country and having adequate number of qualified youth we could not produce goods and services and sell abroad.
We are contented with writing on all our walls, erecting flags all over, delivering non-stop speeches as loud as possible and celebrating as many days as possible with hartal, bundhs, rallies and processions. Neither the people not the government is doing any result oriented effort to raise the per capita income of the state. We must warn ourselves with a Sri Lanka in our close vicinity.
