MOBILE PHONES


The most populous state of India, Uttar Pradesh accounts for maximum number of mobile phone users followed by Tamil Nadu, Maharashtra, Andhra Pradesh and Bihar. These five states together have half of the mobile users in India. Only 6 states have more than 50% smartphone users. About 53% of the country still use feature phones. A report also shows that in 2020 the penetration rate of smartphone reached 54% which is estimated to reach 96% in 2040. The literacy ranking of the population determined the use of smart phones more. The highest number of smartphone users are in  Kerala with 65% followed by Maharashtra, Himachal Pradesh and Gujarat.

South Korea is the digital leader in the world. 100% of adults there have mobile phones. In Israel, Netherlands and Sweden 85% of the adult population use smart phones. While the number of phones in the whole world are 7,950,000,000+, China has 1,610,360,000 and India has 1,515,971,713.
