COVID19 ERADICATED FROM NEW ZEALAND

The whole world stand and salute the Prime Minister of New Zealand Jacinda Ardern for the heroic effort to fight Covid 19 and eradicated from her country. While 214 countries are still fighting with the deadly virus she is the first to come victorious.

The population of New Zealand is 50,02,100. Number of cases reported are 1,504 and mortality is 22. Cases per million is 301 and mortality per million is 4. The cumulative number of cases are 0 on February 17, 52 on March 21, 797 on April 2, 1312 on April 11,  1485 on May 2, 1504 on May 26 and 1504 today. The cumulative number of deaths reported are 0 on February 19, 1 on March 28, 9 on April 14, 19 on April 28, 21 on May 18, 22 on May 30 and same 22 remains today. No case is reported for the past 17 days. Out 215 countries New Zealand was on 106th spot. Eradication of Covid19 in such a short period is a commendable joint effort by the people and the government.

New Zealand is the first country that effectively checked Covid19. This can be followed by all other countries. Covid19 is, in a sense, the ultimate final exam in administrative law and governance. Faced with global pandemic threat, every government on the planet faces essentially the same public health challenge: to protect its people from a deadly contagious disease by regulating private and public conduct to minimise disease transmission at a manageable cost to the economy. While many countries including the developed ones failed this test New Zealand has successfully came out of it. All the credit for this great achievement goes to New Zealand's Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern. Many countries, by contrast, pursued the matter in different paths. WHO may have close study of the whole thing and pass it on to countries which are deep in the water. The two ways to spread the virus are, one through inbound passengers and the other is through uncontrolled movement of people outside homes.

Once again it is to be highlighted that Identification and Isolation is the only way to prevent the contagious disease.
