CHINESE SILK ROUTE AND OTHER OFFENSIVE GAMES

China's silk route through POK is not with mere commercial interests. It is like a strangle hold for India. There are provision to extend this highway to Nepal and Bangladesh. On completion of this road China will have a wider access to India through Nepal. Chinese can now use the Chittagong port of Bangladesh. Further to these China Merchant Port Holdings have entered a 99 years lease agreement in 2017 with Sri Lanka Port Authority for the use of Hambantota Port. China has made huge investments in Maldives on infrastructure and other development works. This investment is nothing but a debt trap to tie Maldives with China. Pakistan is already brought under the command of China. The religion governed country is now dancing to the tune of the so called communist country. Within a few years Pakistan will be ruled by China.

It may not be fair to say that all these happenings around us is our diplomatic failure. However it would be fair to say that Chinese diplomacy has overtaken us. The all important thing we have to do now is the physical demarcation of the entire boarder with China. It should not be like the imaginary McMahon line. It should be a visible physical line. Instead of going for a dialogue with the most unreliable China we may take up the matter through UN. Once this firm boarder line is established the intermittent scratching at boarders by China can be avoided permanently. We must take up this matter with UN on red hot priority.
