COVID19 - DOWNWARD TREND IN JAPAN

Japan
Japan is another country that could contain Covid19 fairly well. The population of Japan is 12,64,97,998. Total cases reported as on date is 17,174 and mortality is 916. Tests conducted per million is 2,505.

12 cases reported on 22 February, 34 on 16 March, 318 on April 4, 743 on 12 April, 368 on 21 April, 264 on 2 May, 55 on 14 May, 33 on 1 June and 33 on 8 June is the progress chart. Death reported was 8 on 4 April, 25 on 1 May, 49 on 4 May, 5 on 8 May and zero on 8 June.

Cumulative number of cases are 59 on 16 February, 1054 on 21 March, 7618 on 13 April, 13614 on 27 April, 16285 on 17 May and 17174 on 9 June. Cumulative number of deaths are 1 on 21 February, 47 on 26 March, 360 on 25 April, 725 on 14 May, 900 on 3 June and 916 on 9 June.

The response towards Covid19 by the political leadership was subjected to serious criticism from different corners. Finally when things were going beyond control emergency was declared in Japan on April 7. Except some essential services everything was closed. When people were forced to remain in houses the pandemic came under control.

It all controlled by total isolation. The most effective method to prevent the deadly virus is proved once again that Identification and Isolation is the best.
