AGRICULTURAL DEVELOPMENT, FOOD ADULTERATION AND HUMAN RETROGRESSION GET INTERLINKED

We have umpteen number of bodies for the development of agriculture in India. Whether it is the development of rice, wheat, vegetable or fruit, it should be finally destined for the development of the people. However, most unfortunately, our agricultural development is ultimately leading to the retrogression of humans in our country.

Cancer patients in India is projected to increase to 29.8 millions in 2025 from 26.7 millions in 2021. Many chemical contents in pesticides and chemical fertilizers  are potential enough to cause cancer. Pesticides used in vegetables and fruits have devastating elements to make people infected with cancer. Over and above these some business people adamantly make healthy people into cancer patients. They produce and supply packed food contents . Many such food packets found to have contained harmful substances time and again. Over and above these cooking oil is reported to have mixed with used Mobil oil, formalin is used for preserving fishes and meat, chicken and eggs are contaminated with harmful materials. Such elements were detected in hotel food, bakery products etc from different parts of the country. At least in some cases our print and visual media is not giving proper attention to these cases.

Coming back to cancer cases, the central and state governments need to give more scrutiny on this matter and take appropriate action at appropriate moment. Stringent punishment should be provided in the law to prevent adulteration of food in our country. Failure to take preventive steps well in time may lead to a steep increase of cancer patients in our country.

Most unfortunately our rulers have no time to set right these. They are always busy with politics. And surprisingly a good number of our people do not know what they are eating and what are the impacts those make to their body. Just for someone to make some money they convert many healthy people to Cancer patients. Should we not find an end to these?
