India/Kerala
More than 260 million Indians do not have access to electricity as per reports of 2019

Minister of state for power Sri R K Singh has said earlier that by 2018 India has accomplished 100% household electrification in 25 states. While Jharkhand, Bihar and North Western Rajasthan are the worst affected states in the power sector until few years ago, rural Himachal Pradesh and urban J&K  are the states with maximum power outages in 2021-22.

While considering the power outages in Kerala it has become quite frequent in the recent times. Since the power cuts cause huge loss of revenue to the state and bring heavy burden to the people, the state government should make the following arrangements in the interest of the people. 1) Power outages should be audited in every three months to ensure that the cut, irrespective of the duration, is imposed only on unavoidable reasons. 2) The State Electricity Board should issue statement on monthly basis to the press indicating the revenue loss during the preceding month due to power outages.

Let us bring our power sector to the international level.
