WHO STOPPED THAT CERTAIN PASSENGER FROM BOARDING BOTH THE FLIGHTS?

Two Malaysian Airlines were crashed in 2014. The first was shot down in Ukraine and the other was lost in Indian Ocean. Dutch cyclist Maarten de Jonge was scheduled to take both of these flights. At the last moment Jonge cancelled his tickets of both flights. More importantly in the Ukraine crash all 298 people on board were killed. Most of the passengers were Dutch and Jonge too was a Dutch. The other flight going from Kuala Lumpur to Beijing was lost from the radar and known to have fell into the Indian Ocean. All 227 passengers and 12 crew members are presumed to have died. Jonge  cancelled his journey by this flight too at the last moment.

Can it be seen as a sheer coincidence? Can we merely say this a lucky escape? Is it that Jonge was saved under some physical law? Or, the saviour is a cosmic force?
