HOW MUCH MONEY YOU NEED?

"Money never made a man happy yet, nor will it. The more a man has, the more he wants. Instead of filling a vacuum, it makes one."
Benjamin Franklin.

"Too many people spend money they earned...to buy things they don't want...to impress people they don't like."
Will Rogers

Most of us cannot answer if someone asks us how much money we want. On the other hand, if asked, how much water or food or dress we want, we may be able give a firm answer. But money, never say 'no', let it keep coming is our firm attitude. Look at the richest in the world; they continue to keep accumulating until the last breath.

If we can understand the fact that money is nothing but a medium of exchange for our day to day needs which we gather from our efforts, we may not run after it, as our daily needs have a limit. Should not see it beyond this level. If money is accumulated with us, it  starts bringing hatred and distress.

We may compare two different atmosphere here. One is an ordinary agricultural worker after his routine work in the field take bath and have his night meals and sleep comfortably in the open veranda even without a fan. The other is a rich man after his routine work take bath and have a tasty dinner and go to the comfortable a.c. bedroom and sweating without getting a sleep. These two are very common things happened around us. This shows that money cannot fetch peace and calm to any person. The reason for this is probably that money comes to us usually with the help of adverse or sinful acts. Harold Robins in one of his novels says, "There is a crime behind every fortune". This seems to be more apt in today's world.

Those who are running after money generally pledge their happiness, peace and credibility. By the time, if they acquire the targeted sum, they would have lost all these three things. What would be left with them will be distress, horror and sickness. Let us earn only for our day to day needs and be contented with that. You will be healthy, courageous and joyful.
