CAMPUS POLITICS MAY BE BANNED IN INDIA

When there are many countries in the world where political parties are banned we Indians are so liberal in nurturing over 2,700 political parties in our country. The growth of these parties are arranged through our campus. As a result strike, hartal, bundh, road blocks, shop closes, school and college bundh and all sorts of protests are common here. There may not be a single day when no such protests are taking place in any part of the country. Let's recall here the 1989 Tiananmen Square protest where over 20,000 people were killed including onlookers. Politics in Indian colleges and schools, it can be safely assumed, provide training to cause destruction to public properties, wound and kill fellow students and teachers. According to a report by The New Indian Express, during the period from 2016- 2021 period 32 political killings reported in Kerala of which 12 from Kannur alone.

What is the real gain from campus politics? May be the only answer will be, to create political violence and terror in the society. As per a report by India Today dated 23 June 2003, Kerala High Court held that the managements of colleges have right to get banned politics in campuses. It also asked the state to frame similar rules for government colleges as well. Now the Central Government may formulate the law suitably to ban all sorts of political activities in schools and colleges. Let us stop producing criminals in campuses. Let our campuses bring up a new disciplined generation for tomorrow. There should not be any consideration for any political parties.
