ENVIABLE COUNTRIES IN THE WORLD

Daily sight of Ganga in Banaras

When compare ourselves with other countries, we Indians become envied to some of those. For us those countries are just imaginary or Heavenly countries. We may first see some with lowest murder cases among the world countries. (The figures shown below are number of murders per lakh of population.

Monaco - 0, Palau - 0, Hong Kong - 0.2, Iceland - 0.3, Singapore - 0.3, Japan 0.4,
Brunei - 0.5, Luxembourg - 0.6,
Baharain - 0.6, Norway - 0.6
The rate in India in comparison is, 3.08 per lakh of population or 82 per day.

The following eight countries have made historic changes in their laws that discriminated, marginalized and silenced women. They have brought in new laws to ensure stringent punishment for those committing any offences against women, girls and infants. Various safety and protective measures including socioeconomic upliftment are also introduced by many of these countries. Those eight countries are: Kyrgyzstan, Tunisia, Jordan, Lebanon, Liberia, El Salvador, Guatemala and Honduras. We Indians may find these are nearly impossible to introduce in our country. We go to temples many times in a month. Many of us take holy dip as much as possible in the great river Ganga. We do lot of Puja in our houses. And we prefer to call ourselves pious. We find pleasure in all these displays and exhibition of ourselves. Alongwith this we also find pleasure in hurting our own women. According to EEOC report there were 2,77,872 cases of sexual harrasment against women in our country between 2018 and 2021. Our social systems, law and order establishment and religious organisations may have their own relaxed approaches must also have contributed for such huge figures.
