HOLY BOOKS AND RELIGIOUS TEACHINGS

We are discussing here the outcome of religious teachings. We may first find the top five countries where highest number of crimes taken place in the world as per crime index of 2021. Those countries are: 1. Venezuela
2. Papua New Guinea 3. South Africa 4. Afghanistan 5. Honduras

Now we may find religion wise population of each of these countries.

Venezuela
Christian 88% (Catholics 71% and Protestants and others 17%)
Other faiths 12%

Papua New Guinea
Christian 83% (Catholics 26%, other Christians 57%)
Other faiths 17%

South Africa
Christian 86%
African religions 5.4%
Muslim 1.9%
Others 7%

Afghanistan
Sunny Muslims 82-89%
Shia Muslim 10-17%

Honduras
Catholics 47%
Evangelical Protestants 36%
Others 17%

INDIA
According to the census report of 2011 percentage of religion are:
Hindus 79.8%
Muslims 14.2%
Christians 2.3%
Sikhs 1.72%
Others 2%
Crimes registered  in 2019 - 51,56,172. Out of these 10,50,945 were classified as offences including violent acts like murder, kidnapping, assualt and death by negligence.

Major share of the population of all the above countries have faith in some religions. Unfortunately none of the religions could prevent crime among their respective followers.

Here arises a few questions. What is the purpose of a religion? If any religion does not achieve the desired goal, can the followers do anything? Should the established religious principles be diluted to satisfy the political leadership of a country? Do any religion propogate and follow a universal Creator? If one does not follow any religion what will be his life after death?

While we find a close link between religion and crime we must find suitable answers to the above questions and try to have a relook on our faith.
