REJUVENATION OF ECONOMY

While continuing our fight against coronavirus we must immediately focus our attention towards the economy of the state. The tiny virus has exposed the shattered economy of the state. For decades the prime revenue of the state, other than taxes and duties, are from alcoholic drinks and lottery. When one is selling dreams to the people the other is making the poor poorer. Chunk of the revenue is alarmingly spent for salary of the government employees and for political paraphernalia. This is continuously being done by every successive governments. No one is dare to look for any alternative sources. In fact the economic backbone of the state is huge sums of money pumped in by the expatriates from countries across the world.

It is high time that we must change our economic outlook. The government should think on more and more manufacturing and exporting industries. Every household of the state should be made participant of such new industries spread over the whole state. Government need not look for large area of land and huge investment for this. Not even a single rupee should be brought in by the government. If properly organised and guided the people shall bring in necessary investment. In the similar way new service sectors can also be raised. We should also rethink about our tourism industry which has wide scope for development. We can certainly target an annual earning of two lakhs crore rupees from tourism itself. The government can do many such things to bring in huge revenue for the state. Leave alone alcohol and lottery as these are nothing but destructive elements for the entire society. Government should act as a leader not as a trader.

Let us get inspiration from this coronavirus to rejuvenate our economy and to look for a brighter tomorrow.
