QUARANTINE ARRANGEMENT


Government of Kerala is understood to have made necessary arrangements for quarantine of the the people coming from abroad. So far, as per media reports, 2.76 lakhs people from different countries have registered with NORKA. As the central government is likely to use naval ships also for the transportation of these people, there could be huge number of people arriving in the initial weeks onwards.

Further to this, people from other states will also come in considerable numbers once the train services resume. There is no any estimation of their numbers now. The government may, therefore, to ensure that depending upon the numbers arrrived, necessary quarantine arrangements have to be provided. This is to be confirmed and reconfirmed so that we can prevent any unexpected spread of the pandemic. As far as possible home quarantine should be avoided as there could be chances of spillover of infected people even in small numbers. We should make it doubly sure that the quarantine arrangement is a fool proof one.

Finally the communist government have forced to impose curbs on the Trade Unions in the state to mitigate the unbearable actions taken by them. Trade Unions have come into being when employees were put on hardships by the employers. The time have been changed since then. Now it is our own government and our own laws. All safety, security and welfare measures are ensured for the employee of all types. No third party is now required to safeguard justice for employees.
