UNIVERSITY DEGREE FOR SALE !!!

Despite many political adversities Kerala could stand upright in the field of education. Though we do not have any educational institutions of international standard we could find a place in the top layer of our country. Of late things have changed drastically. We have been giving priority to politics than education. We give preference to destruction than construction. We continue to fail to ensure a bright future for the coming generation. Unless we provide them adequate knowledge to compete in the international arena we are certainly moving away from our responsibility.

Grace mark by political gurus,  university degree without attending college, employment without proper qualifications etc have already made enough dent on our standard of education. If we are now looking for a politically motivated educational pattern we are going to stand nowhere in our customary competitive level. In the ongoing Koodathai serial murder case enquiry the police could find that the accused Jolly has never passed a predegree examination. Surprisingly or unfortunately this person holds a B.Com degree of the MG University and an M.Com degree of the Kerala University according to the media reports. These degree certificates are certainly available in the market for sale. Among many buyers she too must have bought those at a given price. The sellers may include government officials of the department of education and a good number of 'reputed' politicians. On the one hand government is managing educational institutions and conducting examinations at the prescribed standard and award the certificates at the merits of the students and on the other hand the government officials sell these certificates with no eligibility criteria. Is the government not aware of such illegal activities?  If aware why not proceeding against them?

It is we the people should come forward to fight against such destructive activities. If we do not respond properly the existing political system shall crush our age old culture and civilization. If this is allowed scot  free our future generation shall be full of idiots and thugs. It is high time that we older generation should come forward to make a healthy generation to succeed us and ensure that they should have a congenial atmosphere to live in.
