HOW TO SET EDUCATIONAL GOALS TO ACHIEVE SUCCESS IN LIFF

Within the age of 12 -18, children should have goals in life. For someone these goals are suggested by parents, some by their teachers and for some the suggestion come from friends and respected elders. The children have nothing to do but to pick the 'good looking' one. That may not be the right approach. Since the target you set is for your leftover life, you should have perfect knowledge about that distant mark set. While it is appreciable to honour the opinions of parents, teachers, elders and friends, the key factor is that the goal is yours and you have to carry it right through your life, the decision to be shaped and taken well in time by yourself.

You must know the truth that you are the one who know yourself more than anyone else in the world. Hence your life target should be set by you, so that suit you well. You can consider the suggestion from others, but since you are to eat, it should suit your like and taste. For instance, in our contemporary society, there is a belief that passing out the civil services examination is the highest educational achievement. However in real life most of the officers who have come through the civil services examination and attained respectable government job, are not satisfied with their jobs. Then comes doctors, engineers, scientists, professors etc. Amongst them also we can find well contented people and also most dissatisfied ones.

Satisfaction of a job is depending upon the fact that how you have achieved it. If one from his childhood have a desire to become a doctor and 

heal the illnesses of many including a good number of poor people, such one will have steadfast goal in front. On the other hand if one becomes a doctor with the strength of parental pressure and the attraction of donations, such one will only be a namesake doctor. This is the case of a so-called achievement.  If the goal is set by one who is bound to achieve it, that achivement gives extreme satisfaction to the one who set the goal.

In today's educational system the syllabus for various classes are not set as demanded by the time. Today's syllabus must explain all contemporary issues and suggest ways and means to resolve all predicaments and challenges faced. But, unfortunately, today's school syllabus in many parts of the world fully concentrate on securing a job in the future. While it is equally important to prepare the students from the childhood for a contented living in the future, to shape up the charector, habits and personality of the child to survive in the contemporary world without allowing to make any harm to the self. The school syllabus should be prepared with the advice of educationists, sociologists, psychologists, doctors, senior police officers, religious leaders etc so that children should get a wider view of the society and thereby oneself. It should be the knowledge gathered from school should force the children to keep themselves away from all the bad that may keep tempting them right through the life.

In today's world one may have to compete with people from different parts of the world with high intelligence and unfathomable knowledge. Our preparation to  compete with such people should begin at a young age. And that can be said as setting the target. However, setting the target to attain success may not be a right effort. The words success and failure denote  visualisation of the mind. What is success for one may be failure for the other because their targets may be different. Further to this, many success of some may end up in pain and sorrow for those around them. Hence it is preferable to have a target filled with truth and justice so that you will always be a contented one, right through your life.
