DO INDIA NEED A CHANGE IN THE FORM OF GOVERNMENT?

Part V
(Continued from yesterday)

  Presidential Palace of India

No confidence motion in the Indian Parliamentary can lead to a mid term election. Only by impeachment in the American senate can unseat the President. While the Prime Minister appoints the cabinet ministers in India, the president nominate the cabinet and send for approval to the senate. In India, as a country there is only one constitution. In US every state has it's own constitution. The basic difference between India and the USA is that India has a parliamentary form of government while US has a Presidential system of government.

As far as the system of government is concerned we Indians have excessive freedom, but the benefits of it goes to the extremely wealthy and those holding the power. As such despite over seven decades rule by different political parties, the three major issues we have discussed could not be sorted out and contrary to this these are growing up. Corruption has become like an epidemic in our country. It is spreading to every nook and corner of the country. The other issue, safety of women, cannot be expected in the near future, the way it is shaping up. Making law alone cannot find a solution for any problem. Parallelly it should be ensured that the so called laws are implemented efficiently. Our political systems have continuously failed in the implementation process. And the other most significant aspect is poverty. Despite growing up in GDP continuously the poverty rate of the country remain nearly stagnant.

In order to get over from these adversities let us go for a change in the existing form of government in to an American form of Presidential system.  The people should try to attain this in a most peaceful manner. We may have to get the constitution duly changed with the help of the government, both houses of parliament and the judiciary in a most peaceful manner. We are looking for American government because it is one of the most successful system existing in the world now. Now it is the people of India should decide what they want.
