PREMATURE OBITUARIES
Tanya Roberts the Hollywood actress came through the 1985 Bond film "A View to a Kill" and later appeared in the sitcom "That 70s Show" was mistakenly reported as dead in January 2021. This was confirmed by her publicist and manager but retracted a day after.
Bob Hope the film legend's death was announced five years prematurely in 1998 when a prewritten obituary was accidentally published on the Associated Press website. This wrong report of death was then announced by the US House of Representatives.
Britney Spears and friend Justin Timberlake was wrongly reported to have died in a car accident in 2001.
Steve Jobs the Apple founder's death was announced three years before the death in 2008. The 17 page long report was accidentally published and great impact among the Wall Street investors.
Jackie Chan's death was reported in the social media in 2011 but came the correction in his facebook page: "Jackie is alive and well."
Barack Obama's Twitter account was hacked by a group called "The Script Kiddies" and posted that President Obama had been assassinated during the lowa event.
Michael Jordan the NBA superstar was reported to have died of a heart attack in February 2015 by the web site Cronica MX when he was very much alive.
Arnold Schwarzenegger the former governor was reported to have died of heart attack by a post on MSNBC.co on August 28, 2015.
Hillary Clinton. In connection with her visit at a 9/11 memorial in September 2016 in which she appeared to collapse while getting into a van. ABC News weekend anchor Joe Torres said on that evening's news cast, "We begin with the breaking news about Hillary Clinton's death." The anchor meant to say "health" rather than "death" This was later got corrected.
