POLITICAL AUTOCRACY

Though we Indians prefer to call ourselves as the largest democracy in the world, innately we find we are wrong. The fundamental principles of democracy is: 'The government of the people, by the people and for the people.' While we can ratify the first two parts, we are reluctant to endorse the third one. According to the system prevailing we only can elect a person to rule us. How he rules us is not our game. All options for ruling goes to the elected one and a few of his party members. In reality the state or the country can be ruled at the will of the few of the political parties who have secured the majority.

If our media is right, we find a good number of cases of murder, financial swindling, cheating and many such crimes. Those who are at the helm of affairs of power can make any amount of money through illegal channels and get scot free. Though there are enough evidence to question one to find the source of the wealth one amassed the concerned authorities never dare to do the same. There are enough media reports about politicians escaping from punishment or even interrogation in alleged murder, rape etc. Loyalists belonging to their respective parties reported to have taken responsibilities of the crimes committed by their political masters and undergo punishment.

How long we will continue with this system of 'democracy'? Are we waiting for another Mahatma Gandhi to take birth for this? No, each of our youth should become a Gandhi to save our country being ruined by countless number of political parties. We must get out of the political autocracy.
