RESIDENTS ASSOCIATIONS

We have a good number of Residents Associations in the state. Most of these are offering exemplary service to their residents. If they can expand their area of activities, the concerned residents can have high quality food articles. Most of the vegetables and fruits brought from neighbouring states are highly contaminated with pesticides in dangerous level. If the Residents Associations themselves can directly bring these from the cultivators under prearranged terms to replace the existing chemicals with herbal pesticides, their members can have good quality fruits and vegetables. Similarly they can also think about manufacturing curry powders and other food articles. Most of these things coming to our kitchens are highly adulterated. For some peculiar reasons, most of these adulteration cases are not reported. Also they can add fish, meat, egg etc to the list as these two are dangerously contaminated.

The present individual Residents Associations can think about district level association with the active participation of all the Associations from the respective districts. This will help to have a wider network with adequate financial participation from the members. Gradually they may be able to expand their area of activities. This will help the residents to have clean and harmless vegetables and fruits and other food items. They can also think about providing earning for a few from the residents.

If some of these associations can set their foot forward now they may be able to do wonders in this field and can become models for others.
