OPEN LETTER TO THE PEOPLE OF CHINA
"If war starts, India will have no chance of winning" is the threatening statement appeared in the editorial of Global Times on Saturday. Since this paper is the mouth piece of the Chinese administration, it can be seen as the threatening words of the Chinese government.
The writer of this letter, like any other Indians, believe in peace and harmony among all nations in the world, especially with our neighbouring countries. It is unfortunate that the threat of war came from your government after our Defence Minister Mr Rajnath Singh had a lengthy discussion with your Defence Minister Wei Fenghe on Friday. Being a proud Indian I would like to ask your President Mr Xi Jinping as to what harm India has done against the people of China. To the best my knowledge not even one instance to spell out. We two are the most populous countries of the world. We are also fast growing economic powers. If we continue to co-operate with each other the people of both the countries shall be immensely benefited. There is no space for destructive competition. However we can continue to have healthy competition. We may have cultural exchanges, economic participation, share knowledge in the fields of education, medical science and agricultural development. The huge sum spent on arms and ammunitions can be diverted to the comfort of the people of both the countries. People can visit each other and make healthier relations. Is it not the head of China expected to do for his people?
Ignoring all these if you prefer to go ahead with your war plan, it will be the worst decision a government can take against their people. If war is your ultimate aim, please ask yourselves whether you are prepared for it. If so, imagine the outcome of it. It is going to be a war between two Super Powers; not a petty skirmish here and there. The war will not last for more than a few hours. And what will be the result?
Both the names China and India alongwith our neighbours shall be erased from the world map for ever. Think, President of China. Think people of China.
In spite of all the consequences, if you still utter the word WAR, every Indian will wear the uniform of the Indian soldier and stand around our Mother India to protect her.
