SHOULD WE STOP THE PRESENT FORMS OF VIOLENT PROTESTS?

Image
(Image courtesy, NDTV) We are living in our own country under our own elected government. Under this system there is no scope for public protests at all. Anything can be resolved under democratic manner without any public protest. Preventing traffic movements, closing shops, disallowing people to work, throwing stones etc should be stopped.  In the case of any problems of any individuals, groups or  society as a whole it could be resolved in a peaceful manner. In this connection the Central Government get a Public Grievance Redressal Cell opened in all Collectorates. Any individual or group can submit their grievance in writing there. The complainants should get  written resolution within seven days. If the complainant is not satisfied with the resolution they can appeal to the Regional Grievance Redressal Centre which can be about three or four in every state. These should be headed by a three member competent officials. They should communicate t...

HOW TO SET EDUCATIONAL GOALS TO ACHIEVE SUCCESS IN LIFF

Image
Within  the age of 12 -18, children should have goals in life. For someone these goals are suggested by parents, some by their teachers and for some the suggestion come from friends and respected elders. The children have nothing to do but to pick the 'good looking' one. That may not be the right approach. Since the target you set is for your leftover life, you should have perfect knowledge about that distant mark set. While it is appreciable to honour the opinions of parents, teachers, elders and friends, the key factor is that the goal is yours and you have to carry it right through your life, the decision to be shaped and taken well in time by yourself. You must know the truth that you are the one who know yourself more than anyone else in the world. Hence your life target should be set by you, so that suit you well. You can consider the suggestion from others, but since you are to eat, it should suit your like and taste. For instance, in our contemporary society...

WHAT A FREEDOM! WHAT AN ENDURANCE! WHAT A PEOPLE!

Image
After  a long 190 years of slavery India gained freedom from the British on 15th August 1947. But that was not a mere freedom we have won. It was a freedom to do anything, anywhere and anytime! If we go through the media reports of our country for the past 77 years we can see the extent of freedom the 143 crores people have today. Soon after securing independence we killed the one who fought his whole life for freedom of India. Again we killed a prime minister who brought up the country to a very high level. Do we say these are freedom of expression? While going through the criminal history of our country, as per various media reports there were 41,330 homicides in India in 2021. This is more or less the same figure of every recent years. Can we say it freedom to kill? There is a growth of 70.7% crime against women between 2005 and 2018. An average number of 25,000 plus rape cases every year were reported in the past decade. Do we call it freedom to destroy women of our...

HERE IS AN ECONOMIC COMPARISON BETWEEN AMERICAN STATE CALIFORNIA AND INDIAN STATE KERALA

Image
This may looks to be an abnormal comparison for some, but it is a reasonable and proper comparison between two countries from two continents with more or less similar resources. There are differences in area and population but not in resources. The Indian state may be above the American state in natural resources.  With about similar resources, let us say,  both get different returns. Here comes the significance of the tools applied to exploit the resources. And that takes America and many other countries far above our country. Here are the prime data on which we attempt the analysis. Area of Kerala - 38,863 km² Area of California -  423,973 km²  Population of Kerala - 35.33 millions (2021-22) Population of California -  39.19 millions (2022)   GDP of Kerala 2021- $132 billion GDP of California 2021- $3.4 trillion GDP pci of Kerala -  $3,100 GDP pci of California - $70,662 Tourism earnings of California 2021 Spending b...

However there are many countries where over 80% families have own houses. Our government may seriously view this aspect. We may make plans on top most priority to provide houses for all those who do not have own houses. The houses made available should be compact, spacious, beautiful and with all modern and essential facilities. Government need not spend money for this. It may have to arrange loan and feasibility for repayment by the occupants. With little efforts all Indians can be said ...

KERALA IS TRENDING TOWARDS AN ECONOMIC FALL

Image
Kerala is standing erect primarily due to the NRI remittance of Rs 1.5/2.2 lakhs crores per annum. This generally get a well balanced distribution among almost the entire population. In fact this source of income keeps the people fed. This makes the long queue in front of the beverage outlets. And this money makes our roads filled with two, three and four wheelers. Because of this income, people do not create any problems for our government and political parties. Now the trend is set to deteriorate this inflow, may be a bit fast. Once the people's pockets become empty their mood may not be what we are seeing now. Alongwith this shutters of many business houses also shall be brought down. Unemployment may rise terribly. In such a situation, people may abuse the political system that forcefully closed hundreds of business houses across the state during the past decades. It may be recollected that during the regime of one of our earlier governments, a reputed international...

INDIA IS A WEALTHY OR A POOR NATION?

Image
This is a question we must ask ourselves. Wealth is denoted by GDP, pci and ppp of a country. We will find the top countries in GDP. USA, China, Japan, Germany, India, UK, France, Brazil, Italy and Canada can be found in this list. However the GDP per capita varies from the above list. Quatar, Macao, Luxembourg, Singapore, Brunei, Ireland, UAE, Kuwait, Switzerland and San Marino come on top in this list. What makes a country wealthy? It is nothing but the natural resources available in that country and the man power available  there  to exploit those. According to IMF,  on a per capita income basis, India ranked 142nd by GDP (nominal) and 125th by GDP (ppp). While placed at 4th in the world ranking in GDP why we become low placed in per capita income? Economists may say it is because of the high population. It must be wrong. It is the same high population that brought the high GDP. When it is distributed it is shared by more numbers. That is the fact. Less peo...

WHY ATHEISTS ARE HAPPIER THAN BELIEVERS?

(A street in Finland) Those who do not believe in the existence of God are called atheists. The system that propagate the existence of God or gods is called religion. WHY INDIA DO NOT TRY TO BECOME A DEVELOPED COUNTRY

Image
Wealth of a country nis nothing but the natural resources existing and the people available to exploit those. Our country is blessed with these two. However for unknown reasons we do not use these natural resources in time, instead we import the same thing and our young man power is kept idle. Our country has great history behind. We have countless number of tourist location throughout India. Despite these nature's blessings we are unable to bring tourists from across the world. When USA could earn 190.39 billion USD and China 154.02 billion USD in 2023, what India earned during the same period is 20 billion USD. This reveals the fact that how much we are exploiting our natural resources and utilise the available man power. Another tourism related aspect in our country is that there is no safety of women here. According to Georgetown Peace and Safety Index for women 2023, India ranks 128 out 177 countries. Successive governments of our country is responsible for this si...

HOW TO RESOLVE INDIA - PAKISTAN DISPUTES

The economy of Pakistan faces significant challenges. According to the assessment by the World Bank, the real GDP growth is to reach 2.6% in FY25. GDP per capita rank in 2024 was 160 (nominal) and 140 (ppp). The prices (in PKR ) of certain food items are given below. INDIAN AND EGYPTIAN RACES

Image
Ramses II was a renowned Pharaoh in history, lived during 1279 - 1212 BC. In an elaborate study of his mummy later revealed many interesting facts. During his time he is known to have link with the southern parts of India. With the available evidence it can be assumed that this great Pharaoh had visited Kerala at least once.  During a long period of time they had bought spices especially pepper from this region (today's Kerala) There are many similarities between Hindu gods and Egyptian gods, prayers, heaven and hell, life after death, cycle of rebirth etc. When we go back to the history of the world, it can be noted that the Indus Valley Civilization was flourished during 3,000 BCE. During the similar era the Pharaonic civilization was also prospered in Egypt. If we conduct extensive studies we may find notable population in Kerala and Tamil Nadu, Karnataka and And hra Pradesh   that may substantiate the genetic races of Egyptian in India. There are also Egyptians...

OVER 9 PEOPLE GET KILLED AND 110 INJURED EVERYDAY IN KERALA.

Image
(Image courtesy - The Times of India) When a political killing takes place there would be Bundh, Harthal and a series of protests  all over the state. When 3429 people died and 40,204 injured in 2021, there was no protests anywhere in the state. Because all these were written off under road accidents. There were 48,091 accidents and 4,080 fatalities in 2023 and 48,836 accidentd and 3714 fatalities in 2024. It is too serious a thing that happens on our roads. Let us have a broad view of the causes of road accidents. Disobedience of law - like over speeding, redlight jumping, drunken driving, mobile phone use, not following the lanes, careless overtaking etc are the prime causes in this category. Distraction to drivers - publicity boards on roads, road blocks with political flags, decorations etc., delaying the movement of vehicles by public protests, wrong parking on the roads, public assembly on roads etc comes in this category. SUCCESS MAY TOUCH YOU WHEN YOU LEAVE YOUR EGO

Image
Person with ego is hated by all. Friends would be avoiding them. Success would be evading them. According to Bhagavad Gita 3:27 "Ego misleads a human to think he/she is supremo." Bhagavad Gita also suggests how to escape from the mortal existence when you, "Renounce your egoism  and develop a universal vision of oneness and unity in which you will not hold on to any limited belief, judgement or perception."  The Bible too says about egoism. "It is easier for the camel to pass through the eye of a needle, than the wealthy to enter into the kingdom of heaven." Here the wealth indicates ego as the real possession of man is the Holy Spirit and if it is replaced with the self or the ego, it would be absolutely  impossible for him to attain the kingdom of God. Ego is, therefore, the most destructive in this world and that also prevents the world to come. In our day to day life we get oppertunity to understand the size of our ego when confront with a ...

INDIA IS MY COUNTRY IRRESPECTIVE OF THE ATTACHMENT TOWARDS RELIGION AND POLITICS

Image
Every Indian must be proud of our country. We have a long and powerful heritage which many countries in the world cannot boast. According to the census report of 2001 we have 122 major languages and 1599 other languages. There are about 10,000 distinct religions in the world. The prime religions among them are Christianity (31%), Islam (24%), Hinduism (15%) and Buddism (7%). In India we have about 20 nos active religions. As per the members in each the following can be called as the major religions. Hindus (79.8%), Islam (14.2%), Christianity (2.3%), Sikhism (1.7%), Buddism (0.7%), Animism/Adivasi (0.5%) and Jainism (0.4%) Of late, religion has been tied into politics. OPERATION RED BLOOD AND OPERATION SINDHOOR

Image
If killing people is a hobby for someone, that is certainly Pakistan! In 12,002 terrorist activities in India by Pakistan from 1970 to 2018 they have killed 19,866 Indians of different age groups and seriously injured 39,544 people including women and children. When they open out their balance sheet of murder they will find the above figures and may be got contented. The people of Pakistan got separated from India by their own. While leaving India they carried everything that they thought belonged to them. But they refused to carry one thing with them; the age old culture of India. And that made killing fellow beings a hobby for them. Pakistan's defence spending accounts for about 2.3% of their GDP. From 2017 to the present defence budget of Pakistan has grown up to a compounded annual rate of 12.6% against the 8% provision of India and also exceed many countries of the world including that of China. The world average for spending on this account is 5%. Pakistan's c...

WHY UN IS NOT ACTIVE IN PREVENTING TERRORISM CREATED BY MEMBER COUNTRIES

Kashmir, one of the finest tourist destinations of the world was terribly destroyed by Pakistan by continuous inhuman attacks in that region. Countless number of people including women and children have lost lives in their heinous attacks. The poor people of Kashmir who were very much depending on tourism for their day to day life have suffered a lot due to these terrorist attacks. The people of India and the government together organised their best to establish peace in the region. This has helped fairly well and tourist inflow have increased to some extent. This has helped the people to earn something and started to eat well. Pakistan could not afford to see this and they let loose the hardcore terrorists again to Kashmir to spoil peace. And they have caused the killing of large numbers of innocent human beings. India can ...

Just think about  Give little help to the poor; gifts will be showered upon you from heaven. This is a firm truth. K V George
