It is a hard truth that most of of the Indians do not know what people from most other countries learnt about India and the people living here. We may be reluctant or even shameful to admit those. Let us now go through the following facts that are gathered from different web sources. This is not intended to disgrace our fellow beings but to encourage them to come up in life by acquiring more and more knowledge.

Education
According to available information about one third of our population above 18 years are below matriculation and about one fifth of the population are purely illiterates. South Korea,Canada,Japan, UK, Ireland, Luxembourg, Lithuania, Netherlands, Norway, Australia etc are placed on top of the world in education. It is our Central and State governments to focus on the education of the entire population upto the level of graduation. If proper education is given, people will try to find answers to their problems.

Poverty
More than one fourth of the Indian population is living below poverty line. If we remove the GDP of 1,000 richest of our country and reassess the PCI we may find that a good share of our population may fall into the poverty category. Even after 77 years of independence more than 25% of the people cannot have three times meals, necessary healthcare and reasonable house to stay. Whether it is good dresses, vehicles or proper education to the children are beyond their reach. Our country is currently ranking fifth in the world in GDP. Our political leaders are loudly proclaiming our wealth status to the world. We have enough natural resources and more than enough competent manpower to exploit those and encash those to overcome our poverty. Unfortunately our political ideologies could not resolve our hard issues despite trying for over seven decades.

Women are unsafe
Our estimated current population is 142.86 crores of which female population is estimated to be 48.5%. Females in India are in one of the most unsafe countries in the world. An article published in the Frontline magazine on December 6, 2023 shows that there were 4.45 lakhs crimes committed against women in India during 2022, which makes a horrifying number of 51 crimes every minute. What a fearful situation in our country! As per report by Times of India there were 1551 rape and murder cases reported in India between 2017-22, which works out to be 5 rape and murder per week. As per report by
there were 36,811 child rape cases in 2022 alone and the same were above 30,000 cases during the years 2018 to 2020. This shows that we Indians are seen as some wild creatures by at least some people around the world.

Homicides
There were 50,141 murders  reported in 2022 in our country. In the previous years and the succeeding years the murder rates were more or less same. Along with this there are individual crimes in large numbers and mass atrocities in countless numbers.

Corruption
The curse of our country is the massive corruption in our country. The exact sum of corruption taking place is deemed to be beyond estimation. Huge share of these corrupt money has already been pumped out of the country. The process may still being continued. All the corrupt practices in our country are taking place in the country because of the huge black money being circulated all over.

During these days since nothing can be hidden from the people of the advanced countries, they are all watching us through visual, print and social media. Unfortunately a good share of our population is not within the purview of these media. Hence they curse themselves for the present pathetic situation of theirs. When we say we are clean and pious, the world may address is cruel and dirty. Only education to all atleast upto graduation level with a renewed syllabus as per our needs and to overcome the existing problems can bring up our country.
