PEOPLE WHO PREDICTED THEIR OWN DEATHS

     (Sanjeev Kumar and Hema Malini)

Rabindra Nath Tagore
(May 7, 1861 _  August 7, 1941)
Rabindra Nath Tagore needs no introduction. He is the one who opened Bengali and Indian arts and culture to the world. In the year 1913 he won the Nobel prize. Two years later Tagore was awarded the Knighthood. He kept on writing up to his last day. At the age of 80 he wrote his last verse and that said, he gave all he had with him to the people. Nothing more is left with him to give. He thanked them for accepting all his gifts. And he said to them he did not have anything more to give them and therefore, this would be his last offer to the people. Immediately after that the great writer of India died.

Abraham Lincoln
(February 12, 1809 _  April 15, 1865)
The 16th President of America, Abraham Lincoln  was shot dead in the Ford Theatre in Washington DC
He was survived by his wife and a 21 years old son. Lincoln had a dream that a body covered in a white cloth was brought to the Presidential House by some people. He came and opened the cloth to see the face of the dead one. It was found to be Lincoln himself. The president said about his dream to a good number of people. Just a week after the dream Abraham Lincoln was shot dead by John Wilkes Booth.

Mark Twain
Mark Twain was born on November 30, 1835 in Florida, Missouri and died on April 21, 1910 in Redding, Connecticut, USA. He was Novelist, Journalist, Lecturer and humorist. His travel narratives are widely read throughout the world. He was a very  intelligent person. Mark Twain was born during the appearance of Halleys comet. What he said before his death was: "I came in with Halley's Comet in 1835. It is coming again next year. I am expected to go with it. It would be a great disappointment if I don't go." Halleys comet reached the perihelion (closest to the Sun) on April 20, 1910 and Mark Twain died on April 21, 1910.

Sanjeev Kumar
(Born on 9 July 1938 in Surat, Bombay and died on 6 November 1985 in Bombay) Sanjeev Kumar was known as one of the most matured actors of Hindi cinema. Even when he was young he preferred old characters. Old men's role he portrayed in Sholay, Trishul, Parichay, Koshish, Mousam  etc were widely accepted. He used to say that male members of his family normally don't live long. He said to his friends that since he too may not live long, he wished to live as old man in at least films. Since his no old age theory became very popular, his proposal to marry the renowned actor Hema Malini didn't come through
A palmist once told him that he would not reach fifty. That must have made him to remain single throughout his life. Later he had heart problems and
underwent a bypass surgery in US. However he had a massive heart attack on 6 November 1985 and that took his life on the very same day. And Sanjeev Kumar died at the age of 47. His younger brother died few months before and elder brother few months afterwards.

Martin Luther King Jr
(Born on 15 January 1929 in Atlanta, Georgia and died on 4 April 1968 in Memphis, Tennessee).
The speech he gave at the Mason temple on 3 April became something genuinely ominous. He said he had reached the top of the hill. He could see the other side that was too flat. He said he would go there alone, and none of those listening him then would accompany him. With in 24 hours of that last speech King Jr was shot dead. Since he was fighting for the racial equality he had a good number of enemies. He was fatally shot at Tennessee on 4 April 1968 at 6.01 pm and he died at the St Joseph's hospital at 7.05 pm. James Earl Ray was the killer who was sentenced to 99 years imprisonment and died in the prison in 1998.
