DIRTIEST IMAGE OF MALAYALAM CINEMA

        Shooting site of Hindi movie

Malayalam cinema holds a reputed name in the artistic and cultural front in the world. While our country itself is notorious in the ranking of safety of women in the world, Kerala is equally an unsafe place for women irrespective of age. Until now we had the impression, despite staines here and there, cinema is a work field of the cultured people. Of course we cannot escape from our politically inherited culture. Let us not forget that our country is the one which seen a woman on the original form of God Aadi Parashakti. However, of late, the political situation of our country, irrespective of any particular party brought the people into an indisciplined state. Politics have crept into every field of human life. It is injected into the people that anyone can escape after committing crime if one has political support and money in the pocket. And that has encouraged even well known people of the film field to commit such crimes as Justice Hema Commission has brought into light. As pointed out above our country holds the rank 128 among 177 countries in safety of women surveyed in 2023.  Norway, Denmark, Iceland, Finland, Luxembourg etc are the safest countries in the world. Women can travel alone anywhere in these countries any time during night with absolute safety. Can our women even imagine this for another hundred years. It may be further shameful for us to find that most of the African countries are safer than India for women.

We may now come back to the incessant sexual atrocities of Malayalam cinema industry. Though this sexual aberration was heard here and there earlier too but were ended up just in murmuring by one or two.  However, this time the victims have come out with amazing courage. And the result is instant.

We should also ensure that women must be safe in the industry wherever the film shooting may take place. We must also draw a contour for interaction between men and women during free time in the shooting region. The bold reaction the women have come up with should be continued. The future offenders, if any, should be made known that any misbehaviour with women will throw them out of cinefield for ever.

Now what is left in this is, the police may enquire each case. After studying the reports the judiciary may appoint a commission for the final examination of all cases. Then let there be the final judgement. The public also should help to resolve the situation. What best they can do is to avoid seeing the film in which a criminal who is punished by th court is acting. They should not see their films either in the theatre or in TV, in serials or other programs. This will create a sense in the new producers that if such criminals are included the film will not be viewed by anyone. Let us hope that the efforts taken by the women of the film industry will not go to shambles this time.
