CONTRIBUTIONS OF RELIGIONS ARE MOSTLY NEGATIVE



It was believed that religion is the path towards heaven. Since some time it is found that today's religion is a path towards hell. In world crime ratings, Venezuela with 84 crimes per lakh and Papua new Guinea with 81 are the top countries in the world. Of these two Papua New Guinea has 96% and Venezuela has 88% Christian population. Other top ranking countries in crime rate are Afghanistan with a Muslim population of 99.8% and Syria with over 90% Muslim population. India with a crime rate of 45 rank 79 th in the world. The Hindu population of India is estimated to be 79%. Along side Nepal with over 80% population of Hindu ranks 99th in the world crime rating.

Now let us come back to our home state Kerala. According to a report by the Times of India dated 16 Sept 2021, quoting a report of National Crime Record Bureau of 2020, shows that Kerala has a highest charge sheeting rate of 92.5% for violent crimes in the country. In the Woman, Peace and Security Index 2021 India ranks 148 among 170 countries. At 94.9% Kerala was only behind Gujarat with 97.1% at national crime ratings of 2021. With 168.3 Assam ranked top in crime against women and Kerala with 73.3 ranked 10 amongst the states of India in 2021.

What is described above convincingly substantiate that religion has no positive impact in today's societies across the world. Our tiny state of Kerala must be a given example for this. For generations representing all top religions of the world living together here with a mutual trust and understanding. For quite some time elements of wealth and power crept into the minds of the religious leaders, distracting them from the large followers. They were timely encouraged by different political parties and were got trapped. They have slowly moved away from the followers. 

After the parents, charector formation of child comes from the teachers and the religious leaders. Today most of these religious leaders cannot find time to do anything good for the people. Surprisingly, charectors of some them are found to be too filthy. They are always busy with the financial management at various fronts. The followers move away towards criminal activities. No exception can be granted to any religion in this matter.
