BIGGEST ZOOS IN THE WORLD

When we look to find the largest zoo in the world a few numbers of criteria needs to be adopted. Those are area of the zoo, the number of animals, the number of species and also the number of visitors too need to be considered. When taken by the area the largest zoo in the world is the Red McCombs Wildlife in Texas with 12,000 acres must be the largest one, but the zoo has only 20 species of animals. Then comes the Henry Doorly Zoo in Omaha, Nebraska, USA is home to about 17,000 animals of 962 species within 130 acres of land area.

The Berlin Zoological Garden opened in 1844 is the oldest and best known zoo in Germany. This zoo comprises of a land area of 84 acres with 17,000 animals of over 1,500 species. It houses the Giant Panda and Polar Bear too.

Another big zoo is the Beijing Zoom founded in 1906 during the Quing Dynasty. The zoo is home for 14,500 animals representing over 450 species. It has an area of 219 acres. There are many rare animals in the zoo.

The Bronx Zoo in New York City opened in 1899 has a land area of 265 acres. The zoo is home for about 4,000 animals of 650 species including many endangered species.

Toronto Zoo located in Toronto, Canada encompasses about 710 acres of land. It has 16,000 animals of 491 species. The animals are divided into seven geographic regions, Indo-Malaya, Africa, America's, Tundra Trek, Australasia, Eurasia and the Canadian Domain.
