CLOSURE OF BARS AND BEVERAGES OUTLETS

While the timely actions taken by the government of Kerala to prevent the spread of coronavirus is appreciated by one and all, some relevant petty issues remain to be resolved. Most important of those pertains to the bars and beverages outlets. Primarily on revenue aspects the government is reluctant to close the bars and beverages. Money is certainly important for any government. No reasonable oppertunities can be ignored. Since this particular matter is concerned about the health of the entire people of the state the government is bound to take the right decision at the right time. It is not out of place to mention that some Indian states have already closed all bars and liquor stores of the their states.

Bars and beverages need not be closed here, at least for the time being but should stop counter sales. They may be allowed to take orders online and home delivery within the concerned city/town should be arranged at a nominal charge. If the government is strictly considering 'break the chain' of coronavirus spread, bars and beverages outlets should not be allowed to spread the virus.
