CHRIST AND CHRISTIANITY

Part - II

Who is Christ?

Before setting off to find Christ we may try to understand who is God with a predetermined focus that this power is indefinable, incomprehensible and baffling and cannot be conceived in human mind as this unseen one is the sum total of the whole universe and beyond. Jesus Christ Himself says: "No man has ever seen God; but now his only begotten Son, who abides in the bosom of the Father, has himself become our interpreter." (John 1:18)
Jesus tells: "Not that anyone has seen the Father, except him who comes from God; he alone has seen the Father." (John 6:46) It is further confirmed here: "You have always been deaf to his voice, blind to the vision of him." (John 5:37) John 10:30
affirms that Jesus and God the Father are one. "My Father and I are one."

Jesus said this in inexplicable terms that God is beyond human conception and He Himself is the visible form of God. The Old Testament reiterates this. "But, my face, he said, thou canst not see; mortal man cannot see me, and live to tell of it." (Exodus 33:20)
Further to these the transfer of God into Jesus Christ also can be found in Genesis 6:6. " ...... and he repented of having made men on the earth at all."
Genesis 6:5 gives the reason for God's repentance. "And now God found that earth was full of men's iniquities, and that the whole frame of their thought was set continually on evil; .." God's repentance and the atonement thereafter was culminated at Mount Calvary. That is Jesus Christ and that is God the Father.
