EMOLUMENTS OF PARLIAMENTARIANS IN INDIA

We Indians are so rich and so liberal. Our servants decide their wages and draw at will. Our representatives in the parliament are considered as our servants. (I do not know whether they agree with this or not.) If things move as usual our MPs shall draw this year a whopping sum of RS 2,80,000/- as monthly emoluments and Rs 4,000/- as daily allowance.

We are usually finding the Members of Parliament fight each other and make all possible ugly scenes when they discuss something pertains to the people, but they are amazingly united when they discuss about their salary and perks. As per the existing economic standard of our people, we shall try to place them in any of the following categories, if they fit in. As per available information the monthly income of the various categories of people in 2016 are as below (in RS).

EWS                      16,000 and below
LIG                         16,001 to 40,000
MIG                        40,001 to 70,000
HIG                         70,001 and above
(Since these figures are from various sources the actual may be got verified and confirmed)
Since the earnings of our hon'ble members are much above these, they do not fall into any of these categories. While comparing their earnings with the per capita income of rich countries of the world they stand very close to them.

Qatar(richest)-Approx Rs 3,19,000 pm
USA                - Approx Rs 3,00,000 pm
UK                  - Approx Rs 2,12,000 pm

We may ask some of our people a fair question that what have the people's representatives contributed to the people of India. The answer may be these.

Farmers: 3,10,095 farmers committed suicide from 1995 to 2015.

Women: 24,923 rape cases were reported across the country in 2012. The figure is around 30,000 in the subsequent years. An estimated 54% rape cases remain unreported.

Youth: According to a UN report unemployment in India is projected to increase from 17.7 million last year to  17.8 million in 2017  and 18 million in 2018.

Common man: According to a UN report quoted by Times of India in Feb 2015,  30 crores people still live in extreme poverty.

Despite all these negatives we shall not ask the hon'ble members to bring down their salary and perks, but request them to do something worth for the people too.
