YES, WE CAN BRING BACK SOME FROM DEATH

Image
In 2018, there were widespread reports of a 53 year old Frenchman who had suffered a cardiac arrest and died. He was then resuscitated back to life after 18 hours from the arrest of his heart. This was brought to have been possible in part because his body had progressively cooled down naturally after his heart had stopped, through exposure to the outside cold. The medical team who revived him were reported as being 'stupefied' that they had been able to bring him back to life, in particular since he had not even suffered brain damage. Interestingly, this man represents one of a growing number of extraordinary cases in which people who would otherwise be declared dead have now been revived. It is a testament to the incredible impact of resuscitation science - a science that is providing opportunities to literally reverse death, and in doing so, shedding light on the age-old question of what happens when we die. Throughout history, the boundar...

DEATH ROAD, THE MOST DANGEROUS ROAD IN THE WORLD

Image
The Yungas Road  also commonly known as the most dangerous road in the world or death road. This road is one of the few routes that connects the Amazon rain forest region of the northern Bolivia, to the capital city of La Paz. Most of the road has enough width for a single lane. When a driver faces incoming traffic, he must maneuver in the tight and treacherous space he has to continue his journey. This narrow road cut precariously into the side of the mountain with sheer vertigo-inducing drops off on one side and hulking rock overhangs and cascading waterfalls on the other. There are no guard rails for most of the road. Landslides, fog and water falls are those constantly causing threats for the drivers. The road became famous in the 1990s after happening several recurring accidents. Cars and buses plummeted down its cliffs of over 600 meters high'. An estimated 200 to 300 people died every year in different accidents until 1994. 18 cyclists alone died sinc...

WANT PETROL @ Rs 02.12 per Litre?

Image
Oil field in Venezuela  According to available information the average price of Petrol in 2024 in Venezuela is 2 Pence (GBP). This South American country has the lowest price for petrol in the world. The last  reported price was Rs 02 12 in Indian currency. Venezuela has the largest oil reserves in the world. The government is also giving huge subsidies to oil. However due to sanction imposed by America and some other countries in 2005 they could not sell oil in the world market. Consequent upon lifting certain sanction in the oil sector India made huge buying from Venezuela from December 2023. Surprisingly this could not make any positive impact in prices in the retail market of our country. As per available information Reliance Industries have received approval to buy oil from Venezuela. A group of Indian youth who can afford to raise funds may think in this direction. They may take necessary approval from Government of India as well a...

AND HUMANITY PERISH HERE

Image
What is shown above is a news clip appeared in the front page of the leading Malayalam daily today (6th March 2023) The words Papa, Mummy, my beloved Son, Daughter and my dear Brother, Sister etc are mere technical words to denote human relations. These words are absolutely not to indicate love, bond or attachment. The so called Indian culture has been deteriorated heavily in our country. What is persisting here are some worthless political ideologies, imaginary monetory concepts and meanless and blind divine philosophies. According to the above news report, many people suffering from mental disorders were admitted in different government mental hospitals in Kerala. After undergoing long treatment for about ten years, perfectly cured fully healthy people have been discharged from the hospitals. A total of 164 such cured ones have no claimants now. The so called close relatives like parents, children, brothers and sisters etc who had admitted these people in the h...

OUR BURDENS ARE BOUGHT BY US

Image
We  Indians are like a large family with plenty of land with enough water and favorable climatic conditions. But, instead of working in the field, produce and sell in the market we run behind the elder ones, listening their economic theories, political history and the divine discourse. We are so humble, liberal and such open minded that we build houses for god's even though we don't have houses. We feed the gods and pujaris though we have nothing to eat. We have no hesitation to follow the economic theories which are found flopped the world over where these were experimented. We have also made trial runs in a few states and found total collapse. We prefer to stop things than running them continuously. Instead of keeping the shutters open for more time we do our best to close those as much as possible. We are taught to shut than open. We prefer to see empty roads than the hustled and active ones. We are taught to remain idle and talk more than to keep working and tal...

DEAR DOCTOR, MAY REMAIN AS A LOVED AND RESPECTED ONE!

Image
If a human is looked at another human as God, is to a Doctor. For centuries Doctors hold this status across the world. "Where the art of medicine is loved, there is also love for humanity." Hippocrates. "Medicines cure diseases, but only doctors can cure patients." Carl Jung. "People pay the doctor for his trouble; for his kindness they still remain in his debt. (Seneca 4 BC - 65 AD)  Of late, it is continuously being reported about two types of corruption by the medical community. One is the bribery by some government doctors and other is the unaffordable charges of medicine and medical services by private medical community. Dear Doctors, these are unfit for this noble profession. If you are not contented with what you are received and then causing pain to the poor and trying to extract more, your own coming generations shall be asked to pay for your wrong action. When people vest divinity in you, try to be stainless at least. K V George

IS MULLAPERIAR AGREEMENT A MEANINGLESS ONE?

Image
I wish to ask humbly and earnestly to my fellow beings of the legal profession whether the agreement on Mullaperiyar between Kerala and Tamil Nadu can be a well founded and valid one. If one gives another an elephant with the agreement duly signed by both that the present owner will ensure that the elephant will remain alive for 999 years. Can any court in India can ratify this just because both parties have signed this senseless agreement? The Mullaperiyar dam which has the approved lifespan of 50 years as per the design and construction engineer of the dam but it has already lived for 129 years (The dam was opened on 10 October 1895) Now if someone says that since agreement stands for 999 years it should function for the set lifespan at the risk of the lives of over sixty lakhs people from six districts of Kerala and also more or less a similar number from Tamil Nadu too.. Our successive governments are least bothered about this  Sword of Damocles. And most unfortunat...

WHO ARE YOU?

Image
We all frequently say about others and sometimes about ourselves the words of praise, the self-made one . If I say that no one is self-made, many of you may disagree with me. Then I may ask you to name a few self-made persons. You are most likely to come with a long list of people who are self-made.  Okay, now I will come back to you. Is it your choice that you are a man or woman? Is it your choice, the height, colour and shape of your body? Is the eyesight your choice? The hearing power, the functions of all your external limbs are your choice? The working of all your internal organs are your choice? Is the body strength your choice? Are the memory and intelligence your choice? All the answers must be negative, I suppose. Now I shall ask you some final questions. Are your parents your choice? Is the place of birth your choice? The time of birth your choice? When you or anyone else say 'no' to all these queries, how can one say he/she is self-made? I shall, then, af...

WHAT SHOULD WE DO FOR OUR FELLOW BEINGS

Image
The estimated population of the world as of 2025 is about 8.3 billion people. All that we are enjoying today are the outcome of the hardwork of countless number of people. Even every grain of rice coming to our plates are the result of many thousands of people. When we get sick we take medicine and get healed. There may be the efforts of generations behind every tablet or every drop of medicine that comfort us. Each one of us are highly indebted to many people lived here or living here. Are we thankful to those humans? Do we ever think about them? Now, coming back to us. We are in this world, may be, for a few decades. If we look at our story, have we got anything in our mind that is worth to mention that we have done for our fellow beings. When we pass away from here, how many around us and how long will remember us. Have we ever fed a hungry stranger with enough food? Have we ever sent sufficient food to a poor family of your area? Have we ever asked a tired poor one whet...

WHERE DO OUR MEDICAL SCIENCE GO?

Image
Reports appeared recently in the News Paper as well as in the WhatsApp constrained me to write this.  A patient admitted in the hospital ventilator was short of money. His relatives requested for one day's time for the remittance. The hospital refused the request and discharged the patient from the ventilator. However, the doctor was kind enough to give an advice. Since the patient was not likely to survive more than a few minutes, the doctor advised the relatives to obtain a death certificate of the patient from some hospitals on the way back home. Unbelievably, the Almighty Doctor interfered and the 'dead man' was brought back to life from the mortuary! In another instance a lady who was supplied capsules from the government hospital found some irritation after taking two capsules. She opened one capsule and found a small nail in it. She then opened one more and found similar object. She was now on the way to hospital where it was supplied from. Today's me...

INCOME TAX

Image
According to available information only about 82.7 millions people are paying income tax in India. This works out to 6.25% of the population. In USA this is 45% of the population. It may not be that the remaining 83.75% of the population are not liable to make IT payment. Also there could be other reasons to avoid IT payment by at least some more Indians. The gross collection before adjusting refunds of Income Tax in India during 2022-23 is Rs 19.68 lakh crores. UNBELIEVABLE COINCIDENCE - TWO ACCIDENTS

Image
Neville and Erskine Ebbin , two brothers died at the age of 17 years in  taxi accidents. The chilling part is that both of them died  in the span of a year, when both were riding the same moped. What is more surprising is that Erskine's accident occurred by the same taxi that killed Neville. And guess what, the taxi driver was the same man who killed Neville. Unbelievable, but true. The news paper clipping is shown above. All that are happening around, it seems, are not haphazard but pre-set and well timed!  We may find so many 'same' in these two two different accidents! DO POLITICIANS NEED EDUCATION ?

Image
(Jawaharlal Nehru University New Mehrauli road, New Delhi. Image courtesy, Times of India) Articles 14,15,16,17 & 18 of the Constitution of India prescribe equality to all and this equality make any Indian citizen, even if one is illiterate, to become a Minister of any department and lead the people. As per this eligibility provision, an illiterate can become a minister of education and one who has no knowledge of law can become a law minister and advise the lawyers and judges.  The prime reason for this is that 140 crores Indians do not respond to anything that happens around them and they have no opinion about anything at all. They receive anything and accept with no resistance. Again there is a cause for it and that is lack of education. It may be surprised to find that seven decades after independence only about five percent of our population are graduates and about one third of the population are below primary level of education (the exact figures may be checke...

ASIAN GAMES 2023; HOW IS INDIA'S PERFORMANCE?

Image
Image courtesy - Hindustan Times  The final medal tally of the Asian Games 2023 at Hangzhou, China. (Gold, Silver, Bronze & Total) China 201 - 111 - 71 : 383 Japan   52 -   67- 69 : 188 S Korea 42 -  59- 89 : 190 India      28 -  38 - 41 :  107 Uzb-stn 22 -  18 - 31 :   71 We Indians are proud of our record breaking performance in the Asian Games. Is this an appreciable performance? I may prefer to say it a deplorable attainment. China has bagged almost four times of medals received by us. In gold alone, when we got 28 they could get 201. Both countries have more or less same population to pick from. Chinese are not born athletes or talented in sports by birth . They train their people well in time and then send to the games venue. Most of our people have no set goals. Just send for the games; that's all. In the athletic disciplines, how many of our athletes have reached the bronze medal level of the p...

WHAT MADE KERALA TO ADOPT COMMUNIST PARTY

Image
(A still from  KPAC drama   "Ningalenne Communist Aakki". Image courtesy, The New Indian Express) Karl Marx was born in Trier, Germany on 5 May 1818. His books Das Kapital and Communist Manifesto laid the foundation for Communism in the world. The world's first constitutionally formed Communist state was in Russia in 1917. With the amalgamation of other  territories of the empire the former Soviet Union was formed in 1922. Altogether Communists could rule 42 countries in the world. Only Cuba, Laos and Vietnam are presently ruled by the Communists. Though North Korea is said to be a Communist country, what is prevailing there is Dictatorship. Political parties have no role to play there. Similarly China is also treated as a Communist country by some. Though they call it People's Republic of China, since people have no role to play there, it is a sheer Monarchy type government in China. Since over 70% of their GDP belongs to private sector and s...
