CAN INDIA BRING OUR UNEMPLOYMENT RATE TO ZERO

Image
According to the Periodic Labour Force Survey the unemployment rate in India has a declining trend: 2020-21= 4.2%, 2021-22 = 4.1%, 2022-23 = 3.2%. The percentage of unemployment shown above may appear to be not very high in comparison with other countries. While looking at our large population these cannot be small in numbers. Over and above these when we add the figures of under employed, those unaccounted found in large numbers in the agricultural sector, the youth passing out every year etc into consideration the actual figures may be much higher. We may also keep in mind that there are countries like South Africa with 29.8%, Djibouti with 27.9%, West Bank/Gaza with 25.7% etc have high rates of unemployment. While assessing the employment rate,  the median age too holds significance. Countries with lowest median age are, Niger 15.3, Uganda 15.7 and Mali 16.2. When we take the work force, India is on the best layer of the median age 28.4 (29.8). The median age of Japa...

CAN WE INDIANS ACHIEVE GROWTH IN ANY LEVEL

Image
Our  political leaders when have a large gathering to listen, say, economic development of India is something easily achievable one. We may overtake China in another few years! We will be among the advanced countries of the world! And very soon by political parties' loud speakers we may listen that we are going to be the richest in the world! Speakers continue with their tall speeches and the listeners continue to clap their hand. Our one-way traffic media reports make these great speeches reach as much people as possible. But what is hidden from probably most of the people are: 1) considerable amount of about 1.5 billion population still live below poverty line or close to the line above, 2) a large amount of our population are between illiterates and below matriculation, 3) ours is one of the most unsafe country for women in the world, 4) countless number of people are begging in streets across the country, 5) unknown number of children are unable to attend the school...

WHY PEOPLE OF KERALA TAKE A 'DON'T CARE' ATTITUDE TOWARDS CORRUPTION?

Image
There  are many instances of allegations of corruption against government officials, ministers, political functionaries etc in Kerala through news media time and again. In response to this the people as a whole do not react considering that their hard earned money is being swindled by antisocial elements. 'Don't mind, let them have it', seems to be the general attitude of the people. The general earnings of the state through government for 2023-24 is: Public debt - 36.9% of GSDP Budget balance -(-Rs 39,662 Cr) Revenue - Rs 1.36 lakhs Crs Expense - Rs 2.76 lakhs Crs Then comes agriculture. Nearly half of the population is engaged in some sort of agricultural activities. Marine products trading and exports is another significant field of earing. About 65% of the income of the state comes from different sectors like IT, real estate, tourism, insurance, banking, transportation etc Over and above these about 1.5 lakhs crores rupees are brought in to the state every y...

DEMOCRACY NEED TO BE REFINED IN INDIA

Image
The New Parliament of India  For over seven decades India is standing proudly in the world as independent nation. We are among the top layer of the world in GDP. We manufacture plenty of products of international standard and sell among different countries. We have educational institutions and hospitals recognised by many countries. While all-round development is taking place in our country, we do not give adequate attention to refine our democracy. About 1.5 billion population depending wholly on our democratic establishments. Unfortunately our democratic establishments do not take adequate care to restructure our parliamentary democracy as it needs to be. For instance, one with no knowledge of law can be a law minister; an illiterate can be an education minister; a health minister need not hold any medical degree, and so on. We need certain alterations in such fields. For instance, it must be compulsory that a law minister should hold a law degree, healt...

DECISION TO VOTE

Image
In many people the decision to vote to which party is influenced by their parents and grandparents. The time is changed and the world around us too is changed considerably. Along with that every bit of information is at our reach. We can evaluate each party, their past performance, the charector of their leaders, the fundamental nature of each party, their promises for the future, their efficiency and resources to achieve the promise and such many other aspects.  We should not go for any petty consideration. Our nation should hold the prime significance. Corruption is the deadliest weapon held by many parties. If we do not get out of this all-round corruption prevailing in our country it will destroy the people and country one day. When your vote is a clean one, it should be received by a clean one too! INDIA NEED REFORMATION

Image
While we Indians feel we are safest in our motherland than anywhere in the world the following figures really horrify us. We murder  about half a lakh people every year. Let us remember that there are over ten countries in the world where the population is less than a lakh.  Homicides in India in the recent times. 2015 - 44,373     2016 - 42,320 2017 - 41,017     2018 - 40,985 2019 - 40,479     2020 - 40,651 2021 - 41,330     2022-  30,000 (Indebted to the report by Knoema for figures from 2015 to 2021. WHO ARE THE CLAIMANTS OF THE ECONOMIC PROGRESS OF KERALA?

Image
(Strike in a production unit in Palakkad. Image courtesy, Times of India) Undoubtedly there is only one claimant for the economy of Kerala as we see today. That is none other than the people of Kerala. Since independence, with bare minimum education, our people moved out to other states across the country. The huge outflow was towards the then Bombay, Madras and Calcutta. They worked hard to meet their needs and send the remaining back to the homes. Later few people moved to Malaya (today's Malaysian region), Persia (Gulf countries) Sheema (England) etc. These all together laid the economic foundation of Kerala. Later with higher education and competitive knowledge and skills our past generations moved all over the world. Our past spirit and experience brought our today's generation to one of the most intelligent and skillful people of the world. And that brought the external remittance to Rs 2.2 lakh crores per annum. None of our political parties tried to pool thi...

SEX EDUCATION IN SCHOOLS AND COLLEGES

Image
A few years ago an interview with a foreign lady had appeared in a Malayalam publication. She came to Kottayam by a KSRTC bus. She walked from the bus stand to the central junction. During this short walk, she said that twelve times people had laid their hands on her. It may not be a uncommon thing for the women folk of God's own country. In another instance, a city bus conductor of Ernakulam, during noon time when there were less passengers in the bus, conciously laid hands on the body of a school girl (I think that the man was later arrested by the police.) In another heinous act a 76 years old women was picked from the way side somewhere from north of Trissur, and according to the media reports she was  raped by a young man and thrown to the road side and some passerby had later rescued her. Recently there was a media report about a fifty plus man sentenced to imprisonment for raping a minor girl. Such things goes on and on in the God's own country. These things ...

PLEASE DON'T DRIVE AWAY ENTREPRENEURS FROM KERALA

Image
(Image courtesy,                                  Shutterstock) (First published on 16.Februar2024) Kerala is notorious for its approach towards entrepreneurs. We have not only driven away many for one reason or the other. Let us understand the fact that this habit of ours have finally brought the state government to the present financial situation. If we could welcome all those came to our state to set up some industries the face look of the state would have been much different. We would not have faced this financial scarcity. Many of our youth would have got excellent employment opportunities and the state revenue would have been substantially increased. E-Manorama had a news report on 12th December that one NRI came from Ireland set up a modern restaurant and toddy bar in Kottayam with an employment potential of over 150 people both direct and indirect. Some people are trying ...

RELIGION PROMOTES CRIME

Image
Triveni Sangam, Allahabad, the confluence of three holy rivers; the Ganga, Yamuna and the legendary Saraswati. During the Kumb Mela Triveni witness the largest human gathering in the world. God Vishnu after Mahabharat in Dwaparayug said that in Kalyuga the people will be so violent that the world will merely be dark. So what is happening all around the world can be attributed to the impact of Kalyuga. In Hinduism there are 4 cycle of birth and death of universe. Satyug - Angels and humans with 100% peace. Pretyug - 75% peace and 25% violence. Ramayana occurred during this period. Dwaparayug - 50% peace and 50% violence.. Mahabharat happened during this period. Kalyug - 25% peace and 75% violence. Current time. Whichever may be the religion it does not consists of Angels and gods but filled with humans. They are prone to commit crimes all along. No impact of Sree Ram or Sree Krishna can be there. Crime rate in India 2020 - 487.8 per lakh 2021 - 445.9 per lakh 2022 - 422.2 pe...

INDIAN YOUTH SHOULD AWAKE

Image
India is a rich country. We have enough natural resources. We have more than enough manpower to exploit those. Unfortunately our successive governments, instead of bringing up the standard of living of the people, making more and more poor and illiterates here. It is high time that the people of the country should realise the situation and focus on raising our own standard of living. Under the present circumstances it may be difficult to unite the whole nation, however noble the purpose may be. Hence the educated youth of the country must unite ignoring all regional and cast complexes. All your actions should be against corruption only, because corruption is the prime enemy of the country today. You need not fight against any political parties, religious philosophies or regional ideologies. My dear young ones, you fight against corruption. If you can win the war and eradicate corruption from the country, you can certainly win the election and form the government as the coun...

INDIAN CRICKET, A STEEP FALL

Image
When we look at the history of Indian cricket of 93 years, it can be seen as a fairly balanced performance. During this period we have played 594 tests with 183 won and 186 lost and 224 drawn. While comparing this with the recent performance we can find 5 defeats in 7 matches. In the recent period we have tried 9 different captains. Yet we have reached nowhere. The IPL has been playing for 18 years since 2008. While analysing the recent performance we cannot say that the IPL has contributed anything worth for the Indian cricket. It may also be worth to point out that political penetrations in cricket arena too could not subscribe anything to cricket.  It is suggested therefore, to form a five members commission to fully evaluate the contemporary cricket and suggest ways and means to rejuvenate the various formats of Indian cricket. Suggested names of the commission: S/S Sunil Gavaskar, Gundappa Viswanath, Kapil Dev, Bishen Singh Bedi.and M.S.Dhoni. K V George

KERALA MAY ENHANCE THE INCOME AND BRING DOWN THE EXPENDITURE

Image
The  State of Kerala is passing through some of the worst times in it's financial history. The successive governments have not done anything considerable to enhance  the revenue of the state. For decades our revenue is primarily centred on taxes, liquor sales and lottery.9 Something is received from tourism too. We are practically more depended on loan that too without any available resources for repayment. If the reports are reliable the state of Kerala has a liability of 48 lakhs crores which is the highest among all states. Taxes imposed on people have almost reached an unbearable stage. Yet no measure is being taken to check the expenditure.  There are a number of Commissions active in the state with a good number of staff and with other administrative expenses. Some of these can be dispersed forth with. Traveling expenditure of ministers and other government staff may be brought down considerably. Expenditure towards entertainment by various offices can b...

REFORMATION OF CRIMINALS

Image
According  to a report by the Indian Express some time back 6.53 lakhs police cases were registered in Kerala in 2017. This must be the highest number in India at that time. As per the State Crime Records Bureau upto the third quarter of 2019 a total of 10,516 cases of atrocities against women were reported in our state of which 1,537 were rapes. Over 8100 prisinors are in Kerala jails now. These things do not sound good for the  state of Kerala. Thus goes the crime in our state. Some are caught and a few are punished. Some are imprisoned for a few months and others for a few years. Finally all come out of the prison gate. But almost all are coming out as harder criminals. They all develop criminal relations with all co-prisinors and continue to commit more and more crimes. There is no result oriented efforts made by the government to reform the criminals. There was a report in the media in the recent past about a motor bike thief who had stolen a good number of bikes....

WHAT IS BEHIND HUMAN KILLINGS IN INDIA?

Image
The lowest reported homicide rate in the world is 0.2 per one lakh and the highest are El Salvador with 82.84 and Honduras with 56.52. Major factors contribute high rate of murder in a country are corruption among the authorities, poor rate of weapon control and a flawed system of justice. Countries with lowest homicide rate are, Japan (0.2), Singapore (0.2), Hong Kong (0.3), Luxembourg (0.3) and Indonesia (0.4). In the highest rate category, after El Salvador and Honduras are Venezuela (56.33), Virgin Islands (49.26) and Jamaica (47.02) are on top. On the other han...

THERE IS ONLY ONE MAN IN THE WHOLE WORLD!

Image
All  put together, there is only one man in the world, taking all living and dead. It is neither a fantasy nor an imagination but a truth. According to Hinduism sage Manu was the first man came into this world. Matsya Purana says that Lord Brahma had union with Goddess Shatrupa (Saraswati) and out of the union of them Manu was born. And he is believed to be the first man created on earth as per Hinduism. As per Old Testament, God created the first man on earth was Adam.  "And then the Lord God formed man from the clay of the earth, and He breathed into his face the breath of life, and man became a living soul " (Genesis 2:7).  "... And he called their name Adam, in the day when they were created." (Genesis 5:2) Modern science says something totally different about the formation of the world and whatever in it. Science explain this through the Big Bang Theory. It says that a tiny particle was formed first and it exploded and from that all those in the uni...

CAN THE PEOPLE OF INDIA UPLIFT THE COUNTRY?

Image
Before answering this question we must know what is the power of the people in this largest democracy of the world. Democracy in India is established on four pillars like legislature, executive, judiciary and media. These four pillars are beleived to be resting on the 'largest area of land' called the great Indian population. If we study the nature of land for over 75 years we may find that it has become a marshy land. Now we must put all out efforts to remove the water from this land and make it a levelled, strong and dry land where all the four pillars can be strongly erected. Whenever weakness was noticed in the pillars there were three external forces that were terribly influenced to spoil the land. First of these three damaging factors is excessive and aimless politics. As per the publication of Election Commission of India dated 23.09.2021, there were 2858 parties registered with the Commission including 6 national parties, 57 regional parties and 2796 unrecog...

LET US TRY TO BRING THE BLACK MONEY INTO CIRCULATION

Image
The  money which is not brought into the books of Income Tax department is said to be black money. In fact we do not have any accurate account of this money available in the country. It is the aftermath of the historically recognised ways and means of corruption. However as per various estimation the amount is considerably varied. When one estimation shows it is over Rs 900 lakh crores, another shows it is over $10 trillion that is held illegally in Switzerland. In an unconfirmed report of the World Bank says it is about 20% of our GDP. The currency  in circulation as on 23 December 2022 is Rs 32.4 lakh crores. Part of this is being added to the black account every year. If our government can take the risk of an earnest effort to account for the black money and bring into the use of the people of the country, India can make a quantum leap in the economic front. The government may select the following fronts for investment under a new scheme exclusively devised for ...

GOD IS THE ONE MOST MISINTERPRETED

Image
In  order to learn more about plants, one goes to the teachers of Botany, for machinary to the Mechanical Engineers and to know about our own body, we go to the appropriate Doctors. Surprisingly, to learn about the Almighty God, the Creator of everything in this universe we go generally to an illiterate or an unconcerned person. Most of us do not know much about a mosquito or an ant. Many of us do not know about our own body system. Highly qualified Psychologists and Neuroscientists cannot say much about human mind. Despite these facts, when it comes to God, anyone may speak everything about God, as if they know all about God. It is because God is so simple for them. For those, religion is the science of God. In modern India, those who have political status is considered as the authorised one to speak about God and religion. We Indians have a treasure of knowledge stored in the four Vedas and the ten principal Upanishads from the 108 books. These great boo...

DEAR POLITICIANS, KNOW WHAT THE PEOPLE OF INDIA NEED?

Image
Village houses in India  There may be very few politicians who can say what their fellow Indians urgently need now.  What is offered by some are God, temple, Pooja and so on. Those who are not in politics may better suggest the real need of the people of this country. The reader may please assess the genuineness of these needs. Eradication of all kinds of corruption including monetory corruption from our country for ever. Ensure GDP per capita income of our country is brought up to the level of economically advanced countries of the world. Poverty level of our country must be recasted to the same level of economically advanced countries and then ensure that no one in India lives below that line. India is a country with least safety for women. We must ensure total safety for women anywhere in this country. We should also stop domestic violence in any house in our motherland. We must exploit as much natural resources a...

LARGE NUMBERS OF WOMEN AND GIRLS MISSING FROM INDIA

Image
According to a news report appeared in Malayala Manorama dated 31 July 2023, 13.13 lakhs women and children are missing from India during the years 2019,2020 and 2021.  Out of these 22,799 are from the most literate state of the country, Kerala. And the people's government is now ruling the state. The most pathetic state is that neither the central government nor the state governments give due significance for this issue. We have many agencies to find the missing people like the police, CBI, IB, etc. I don't know whether the government may say that all these agencies are not meant for this silly issue. The poeple and the government should know that there are 67 countries in the world with a population  less than 13 lakhs, the number of the missing people. In other words, the missing numbers are more than the population of these much countries, it should have been received great attention from all over the world. Maybe because of our large population we are practica...

'I AM THE KNOWLEDGE'

Image
According to Oxford Dictionary the meaning of the word knowledge is: 'Facts, information and skills acquired through experience or education; the theoretical or practical understanding of a subject', or awareness or familiarity gained by experience of a fact or situation. Most people living today are spending a good share of their lives to acquire knowledge. Here comes a question. Does knowledge have any limit? The storage capacity of human brain has limit, but the knowledge as it is, is unlimited. Science says that the observable diameter of the universe is 93 billion light years. All knowledge man can reach is comprised here. Science says that the universe came up to the present gigantic state from a tiny particle. When that is the fact, all these unmeasurable knowledge was contained in that tiny particle. The sun, moon, stars and all life forms or the time , space and matter were came into existence from that tiny particle must be the Almighty God. If that God is...
