GAMBLING IS RECOGNISED AS A LEGITIMATE MEANS TO EARN MONEY

There was a time when gambling was prohibited in our country. The Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MEIT) issued amendments to the Information Technology (Intermediary Guidelines and Digital Media Ethics Code) Rules 2021 (ITR) which came into effect on April 6, 2023. Online gambling, within the limit of restrictions from state to state, and as stipulated by the country as a whole, is allowed in India. 28% GST is payable on online gambling by the gambling companies, casinos, consumers ets as the case may be. The public gambling act 1867 was adopted by several states with certain amendments and thereby gambling which was a vice in our holy land has made approved by our people. Subsequently states have considered it as a means to earn money. India, UK, USA, China, Australia, Finland, Ireland, Canada, Thailand, New Zealand are some of the major markets for gambling business in the world. Gambling is also found as a means for job creation and also tourism promotion in India.

When we talk about our age old culture and civilization we become proud and present ourselves as high as possible. We have thirty three crores gods and countless number of places for worship that make us as pure as possible. When it comes to money we become prepared to adopt any means to compromise with our truthful philosophy and jump into gambling and corruption to make money.
