According to media reports the women wrestlers are protesting for the past three months demanding the arrest of the Wrestling Federation chief on the charge of sexual assault. As per the report by Indian Express, the protesting wrestler Bajrang Punia said, "Justice for India's daughters is more important than the Asian Games Medal" Opposition leaders have slammed the Centre for the inaction. In the international rankings India stands far below in women's safety in the world. Our safety of women is confined to election speeches only.

Since the Central Government has not taken adequate interest in the matter, the protests being done the way it is, not likely to yield any favourable results. There are two options for the protesting wrestlers. One, try to get nation wide attention and large participation in the protests. The other is to take the active participation of all athletic organisation in the country and seek special help from All Inda Federation of Women Lawyers, All India Women's Conference.etc and the relevant NGOs. Finally you may have to seek refuge in the judiciary. Because it is a political issue now.

However before taking any steps they may try to have a meeting with the Sports Ministry. They cannot forget the truth that every Indian had clapped their hands when they hoisted the Indian flag high holding the medal they won. Let us not, therefore, mix justice with politics. Humanity and truth should stand above everything. If it is allowed to spread further, it may spoil the Image of the country across the world.

With best wishes for an early and amicable settlement.
