FOOD SUPPLEMENTS

There are a good number of food supplements in India doing excellent business. Their main reach to the prospective customers are through print and visual media. They give tall promises using influential models. While some promise 300% build up in stamina, some others' promise is intelligence growth. They also claim that children who use this daily shall become taller.

In ordinary situations no consumer can ensure whether the promises made by the manufacturers are true. Presumably there is no scientific evidence to verify. Under this circumstances it is the inevitable duty of both state and central governments to ensure that the promises given by the concerned manufacturers stand good and the consumers are not cheated. Huge revenue from advertisements by these manufacturers, obviously, keep media silent in this matter. If the concerned government officials too become inactive, it is no one else but the consumers themselves, should take up the matter at appropriate level, including legal remedial measures, to ensure that the food supplements they bought are strictly confirming to the tall offers made by each manufacturer.
