EARNING FROM TOURISM - KERALA Vs WESTERN COUNTRIES

Image
Sometimes back someone said about Kerala - God's own country. We Malayalees just repeat it. Even our own country men from other states do not know much about it. Domestic tourist arrival in Kerala during 2018 was 1.6 cr. During the same period domestic tourists visited Tamil Nadu was 49.5 cr and UP 53.6 cr. We may have umpteen reasons to justify the low inflow. The highest earning countries from tourism in 2019 are: USA -$193.3 billion(Rs14.4 lakh cr) Spain - $79.7 bn (Rs 5.9 lakh cr) France - $63.5 bn (Rs 4.8 lakh cr) Kerala - Rs 45,010.69 cr Significant difference in the above figures reveals our failure in marketing our tourism potential to the world. When we are placed in the must visit tourist destination in  the world (8th in the list), we could not make it known to the world. We ourselves should have a relook to our tourism sector. We have almost every ingredient a tourist want to see. We have good numbe

FOUR POINTS FORMULA FOR OUR GREAT COUNTRY

Image
(Image courtesy,                        Shutterstock)     We  ourselves are doing our best for the stagnation of our country. Despite having all resources to take this nation to the forefront of the world we confine our knowledge and efforts to fill the minds of the people with promises with the help of loudspeakers. People of this country has already reached a state to ignore these assurance and guarantee of the ruling parties and the opposition parties. Being a common man from the 1.5 billion super force, these four points are being presented here for the consideration of the fellow beings.  1) Deploy   all idle manpower. We have plenty of land and there can be many things found under this land. At present many scientific means are there to find what are hidden below. If we can effectively use the satellites placed by ISRO we can find what are hidden underneath including oil and natural gases. This arena itself can absorb huge man power. Similarly advanced agric

HERE IS A CHALLENGE TO ALL POLITICAL PARTIES

Image
(Finance Minister John Mathai presents the first budget of India on 28 February 1950. Image courtesy, Mint) Every political party while assuming power to rule, announce a set of offers for the people. Sometimes in course of time both the parties as well as the people forget these big offers and surprisingly no one is brother about these great offers. In fact after every election if one make a list of offers given and what are achieved against each offer always find wide gap. Instead of giving such unattainable offers, why not each government record the existing pci while assuming power and every year while presenting the annual budget, the past year's and the current year's pci may announced. This will help the people to truly evaluate the performance of the ruling government. This may be taken as a challenge by the people as well as by each government representing different political parties. K V George

KERALA ON RED ALERT!

Image
Kerala is on a Red Alert! The situation is getting worsen every passing day. According to Kerala Police Crime Records, 5586 narcotics cases in 2021 and 8124 cases 2022 have been registered under Narcotics Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act 1985. These must be about a gram in a Ton only. The real inflow of narcotics may be much larger than what is estimated. The number of users are getting increased day by day. Young school children are being converted into regular narcotics users. The parents of the children should be aware of this dangerous situation and become more cautious. The police and excise departments should be more vigilant. The parents of the children, the teachers and management of the schools should be more watchful to deal with the situation, or else these children may be lost for ever.  The states reporting highest charge-sheet crimes under IPC crimes in India in 2022 are: 1) Gujarat - 97.1%, 2) Kerala - 94.9%.  This is the criminal growth of Kerala. As pe

THE YOUNG BILLIONAIRES

Image
The young billionaires - Stancy        Tang, Austin Russel and Andy          Fang There  are people who put all out efforts to earn wealth right through their lives but most of them fail to reach the goal and go behind the curtain. But there are some very fortunate people who become billionaires at very young age. We will now see some of those lucky rich. Kevin David Lehmann  Kevin David Lehmann is the youngest billionaire in the world. He is 18 years old and his net worth is $3.3 billion. The prime source of his income is Drugstore. According to the report by Forbes 50% stake of Germany's leading drugstore chain drogerie markt (dm) which brings in over $12 billion annual revenue is his prime earning source. Lehmann's father transferred ownership of his 50% stake in dm to Kevin David in 2017. Austin Russel Austin Russel founded automotive sensor firm Luminar Technologies. He became the youngest billionaire in the world at the age of 25. He is now 26 and his net

GIRL'S BODY IS HER OWN

Image
The High Court of Kerala has recently made an observation, "Boys must know that they should not touch a girl/woman without her explicit consent." What forced the honourable judiciary to make this comment is nothing but the result of the utter failure of our educational system. We must have set a school curriculum that should have the prime target to instill virtues and values in students. Today's students will be tomorrow's citizens. They are the ones to steer the nation to a destination of peace, harmony, discipline, respect to each other and to the extreme comfort of all the people. On the other hand we have allowed stinking politics to rule out the age old civilization our great nation. Until and unless we throw away this politics into waste bins this country cannot come up the way it is capable of. K V George

CAN WE SAY THIS SYSTEM DEMOCRACY ?

Image
Every mismanagement made by the governments or certain individual members of the government are straight falling on the heads of the common man. Still  those commit the errors are free to continue with it. The burden keep falling on the people. Even though the people are not able to carry it they are forced to carry it. As per available information there are about three million elected members in our country for various establishments and institutions. This is much above the population of many countries in the world. The 1.5 billion are bound to share the weight of all those people. If we go through the debates of these institutions right upto the parliament and many courts in India we can estimate illegal and unauthorised burden they all put on the people. How long we may continue with this so called democracy? Can we extensively search our constitution and find a way to the present democratic system into presidential democratic system. In that way atleast the

SHOULD WE INDIANS CONTINUE WITH CORRUPTION ?

Image
(Image courtesy, Telegraph India) Right from childhood we Indians have been confronting with corruption everywhere in public life. Almost any service related with government, one is to deal with at  one way or the other corruption in some form. Corruption in our country is nurtured by our own political parties. While the common man is falling down to poverty day in and day out many political leaders are found accumulating wealth in different forms. As far as corruption is concerned, there is no difference, it seems, between parties. If political parties are against corruption, here is a challenge for each one of them. In the coming assembly election, let them present an election manifesto for the people. It should say: "If we are elected to power, we shall eliminate corruption from this country. Any government employee, elected members or political functionary if found involved in any monetory corruption, nepotism or any other form of corruption shall be removed from

YES, WE CAN BRING BACK SOME FROM DEATH

Image
In 2018, there were widespread reports of a 53 year old Frenchman who had suffered a cardiac arrest and died. He was then resuscitated back to life after 18 hours from the arrest of his heart. This was brought to have been possible in part because his body had progressively cooled down naturally after his heart had stopped, through exposure to the outside cold. The medical team who revived him were reported as being 'stupefied' that they had been able to bring him back to life, in particular since he had not even suffered brain damage. Interestingly, this man represents one of a growing number of extraordinary cases in which people who would otherwise be declared dead have now been revived. It is a testament to the incredible impact of resuscitation science - a science that is providing opportunities to literally reverse death, and in doing so, shedding light on the age-old question of what happens when we die. Throughout history, the boundar

ACHIEVEMENT IN LIFE

Image
Most of human achievements, if evaluated properly, can be found as imaginary. If someone says the sun can be hidden in a mustard seed, he will be called a ludicrous one. If that is so the modern science should be redefined as a ludicrous set of theories. According to the scientific theory of the beginning of the universe, this  universe comprising of countless numbers of galaxies consisting of billions of suns have originated from a tiny particle after a Big Bang. If that is so our sun, moon, stars etc can be packed in a mustard seed. That is what the Newton's third law says. After the expansion process cease at some point of time, it all will start a return journey. During the course of this journey that may take about an equal time of the outward journey. According to physical cosmology the astrophysicists suggest the present age of the universe is little below 15 billion years. It may keep expanding more or less similar time. Then the same it may travel to the Big Ba

TIGER ATTACKS AND FUNNY SOLUTION

Image
As of now there are 53 tiger reserves in India with a total tiger population of 2967 nos. (Another information shows it is 3010 nos) This is about 80% of the total tiger population in the world. Periyar Wildlife Sanctuary is the biggest in Kerala with area of 777 sq.km. Silent Valley Wildlife Sanctuary (Nilgiri Biosphere) has an area of 89.52 sq.km. These two are the prime Tiger Reserves of Kerala. Altogether there is reported to be a population of 190 tigers in Kerala. According to National Tiger Conservation Authority's findings, from estimations conducted in 2006, 2010, 2014 and 2018 the annual growth rate of tiger is 6%. Tiger is a carnivorous animal. When it find scarcity of its natural food sources it looks for new arena and thus it lands in human inhabited regions. When these animals started attacking humans in these area the authority concerned has come up with a funny resolve for this; to impose birth control of tigers. Immediately taken a follow up too to appr

Here comes the question. What way the people and country of Netherlands is superior than t
