PEOPLE WITH LONG DEGREES

While some people learn whatever possible for a living, some others seek education for a standard living. Education, in short, nothing but acquiring knowledge. In our modern world of high competition, knowledge is the only weapon that makes us stand firm anywhere. Those who possess knowledge  stand head high everywhere. If that is the case of knowledge we shall find here someone who studied for long and acquired more and more degrees to add to their names.

Prof VN Parthiban
Professor  V N Parthiban, 50 year old from Chennai, holding 145 academic degrees must be the top in the world. Mr Parthiban's visiting cad is like a book overflowing with degrees. His possession include 8 Master of Law degrees, 10 Master of Art degrees,  8 Master of Commerce degrees, 3 Master of Science degrees, 12 Research degrees and 9 Master of Business Administration degrees.
Dr Shrikant Jichkar
Dr Shrikant Jichkar (1954-2004) was known as the most qualified person in India. He had 20 degrees from 42 University exams. From a medical doctor (MBBS and MD) he did his law with post graduation in international law. He continued with DBM and MBA, Journalism (B.Journ) and D.Litt in Sanskrit, the highest of any degree in a University. Most of his degrees are with first merit and he had several gold medals for his degrees. Between 1973 and 1990 he wrote 42 University exams. He appeared in the Indian Civil Service examination 1978 and got selected in IPS. He resigned and appeared in ICS exam again and got selected and joined IAS in 1980. He then resigned  after four months to contest the general election. He was elected to the Maharashtra Legislative Assembly in 1980 as the youngest MLA at the age of 26. He was also a Minister of State, Government of Maharashtra and a member of the Rajya Sabha (1992-98).
Dr Jichkar was an academician, painter, professional photographer and stage actor.

He had one of the biggest personal libraries in India with more than 52,000 books. Dr Jichkar holds the Limca Books of Records for the.most qualified person in India. He died in a car accident on 2 June, 2004 at the age of 49.
